I created a new i7 with 16 Gb and 200 Gb SSD - no storage - installed MB Server Thanks for server backup - !!!!! tok 2 minutes to backup and reinstall on new i7 Last night for only a few minutes I was streaming 2 TV shows source 720p from i7 and the load on the i7 server was <5% Today I noticed new Android clients (may have been available for a bit) updated on both Galaxy note 10-2013 & Galaxy S4 tried to stream a 1080p TV and a 720p - load was >70% ?? stuttering ensewed at 30 seconds and jutter coninued turned off HLS - and retried better - but still heavy load After a while - 45 minutes into first show and 30 minutes into 1080p load dropped to <5% any hints or advice - best practices ? what a server can do - and does transcoding buffer on the server ? Tranquil 93 Posted October 16, 2014 Share Posted October 16, 2014 Streaming LiveTV needs a lot of CPU power cause all must be done in absolute realtime. There is no possibility to "encode ahead". Also all decoding must be done by the CPU. Have you played with the quality settings in MBS? Maybe try something different as "Auto". For realtime-transcoding your CPU can not be fast enough!
