Sp3kt3r 13
Hi, I created my music folder structure as per what it was recommended: \Music \Artist Name \Album Name 1- Song.mp3 2- Song.mp3 but I would like to have a subfolder between Music and Artist Name so that I separate my band album and soundtrack album. This would also give me the possibility to browse by folder. If I do that right now I have the same layout as ALBUM ARTIST and I don't really like having my soundtrack album mix between my metal or rock album Ex: \Music \Soundtrack \Artist Name \Album Name 1- Song.mp3 2- Song.mp3 \Artist Name \Album Name 1- Song.mp3 2- Song.mp3 \Band \Artist Name \Album Name 1- Song.mp3 2- Song.mp3 If I do, will this create a problem for the metadata ? Also what is going to happen with all the current metadata ? Will I have to re-upload the picture (Primary, backdrop, cover) for the one that wasn't found through musicbrainz ? (Ex: indie band) What should I backup before proceeding ? Thank you ! Edited October 15, 2014 by Sp3kt3r

ginjaninja 539
Since both soundtracks and bands in your case match mb3 naming convention, why not just have two roots in your music library definition? Sp3kt3r 13
This is what I was going to do.. add another folder location under music library.. This seems to be the only way. My question was more... if I keep it as is but add a level of folder \Music \Soundtrack \Artist Name \Album Name 1- Song.mp3 2- Song.mp3 will Mediabrowser be able to get the metadata if there's a soundtrack folder before Artist. if the root of the library is still Music (Ex V:\Music) Second question is, If I move my soundtrack to the soundtrack folder and create a second library (V:\Music\Soundtrack) will I have to rescan all the metadata for all soundtrack. I don't really mind if the answer is yes BUT there's some unknown soundtrack that I had to manually put the metadata myself and add the cd cover and this I don't really want do it again.. If I have to I will update: I started to reorganize my library and structure and I'll let you know the results Edited October 18, 2014 by Sp3kt3r
