Remote login results in "sign in error"

I have some trouble getting loggin into my Emby server remotely ...

I am attempting to access my server remotely from a HP Chromebook with Chrome browser using an external internet connection via my phone hotspot with its local wifi turned off.

I get the Emby log in screen but when I enter user ID and password, I get back the "Sign In Error - Invalid username or password. Please try again"

I have trouble shooted the following already ..

1_ Verified port 8096 is accessible externally using canyouseeme.org

2- Verified user can log into the server from an internal devise

3- Verified use can log into the server from the HP Chromebook when it is on the internal network

4- Verified user profile has "Allow remote connections to this Emby Server." checked

Any assistance / thoughts will be greatly appreciated.

Are you connecting through app.emby.media or direct IP/domain?

And you're using your local user credentials and not Emby Connect ones?

Yes local user that I can sign into the local server

You've already done all the troubleshooting I could've think of, you could try replacing password while connected locally and see how does that compare?
