Guest Magnus68
Hello, I want to give Emby a trial. I have set up my server on my Mac. I have ripped my BD:s and DVD:s using Handbrake. Since I am in the Apple ecosystem it is mainly mp4 with text subtitles. Some are mkv with PGS subtitles. Playing them on my Mac causes no problem, but when I try to stream films on my new 2022 LG TV C2 series i got trouble with a rotating blue circle. I suspect it has something to do with speed on my local network and transcoding to a format my TV can accept. I am not an expert. In the settings on the TV the default Auto quality is far from the best. On a lot of movies I I have to play with different quality settings to get the film started. I read some topics here about slow transcode on LG TV and subtitles. I have tried to use different SRT from OpenSubtitles but the problem is not solved. Is hardware acceleration a good idea? I am on an Intel Macbook Pro. How should I think to get it as smooth as possible with so little loss in picture quality as possible?
Guest Magnus68
Answering my own post. For some reason if I remux from mp4 to mkv it works much better. I can use the TV app without further degradation of video and sound.
