power dvd 13 and 14 black borders solution

Just wanted to share a problem I solved with PDVD both 13 and 14.  When using an external player with cinema mode it launches with black borders around the movie and this has been driving me nuts for the longest time.  I've messed with overscan/underscan, so many driver settings etc.  Google this issue does have many people with the same problem  and I found a solution that 100% works for me so if you have this problem try it and see if it works for you.

 

Go to \programfiles\cyberlink\powerdvd13\movie\powerdvd cinema  look for startup.ini.   5 lines down you'll see "PDVDwindowname = CyberLink PowerDVD 13.0"    Change it show it shows  "PDVDwindowname = PowerDVDCinema13"

 

Now if I could just figure a way to have it automatically switch from 2D to 3D I'd be golden!
