Hi Guys,

When I go to https://app.emby.media I need to login to my Emby account. When I do this, I am presented with my server, but when I click my server I am getting an error message that I need to upgrade to the latest version. I installed the latest version first, but same problem. Then I installed the latest Beta which has a higher number, but same issue.

When I go to my Synology DSM and startup Emby from there, everything seems okay.

Normally it was possible to use the app.emby.media url... what am I doing wrong here?

Hi, have you setup https on your emby server?

If not then you'll need to use the http version of app.emby.media

Hi Luke, thanks for your quick reply!

When I startup Emby from my DSM and check on the Dashboard:

Draait op http poort 8096.

In-Home (LAN)-toegang: http://10.0.0.50:8096

Externe (WAN) access: http://xx.xx.xx.xx:8096

On https://app.emby.media/#!/startup/selectserver.html

I can see my server with the same http://xx.xx.xx.xx:8096

So not sure if I have set it up correctly?

Are you sure that is the complete contents? I don't know what that browser-polyfill thing is but I would suggest removing chrome extensions and then trying again.

If you click on the adblock panel, far right in the dev console do you see anything listed there?

What version of adblock do you have installed?  I'll try and duplicate your issue.

What's the specific version number and region (country) you're in?
I ask because I'm not able to reproduce this so I want to make sure I'm running the same version of adblock as you.

Does this happen every time you try to use it with http://app.emby.media  ?
Doesn't happen when you enter http://10.0.0.50:8096 from your own LAN correct?

Have you tried any other computer or even a different browser on the same computer?

Please send me a Private Message (hover over my avatar) with your real remote address and I'll test connecting to your login page.

Thanks for getting back to me! @cayars

I am using Version 4.8.0.16 beta and I live in The Netherlands

AdBlock chrome extension is disabled

It always worked.. but since a few weeks it doesn't anymore. I have no idea if I changed something.. I am not aware I have changed anything. The only thing I can think of is that I deleted my Chrome Cache

When I use the local IP http://10.0.0.50:8096 it works seamless

So just tested on my laptop instead of the Mac Mini.. and that does work?!?

Had the feeling that would be the case.  It's the machine your using to do the tests that's having the error, it seems.

Pollyfill is a service & library that devs use to get information about the browser.  This isn't about security and you but the browser itself.  Code libraries getting ready to run ask the browser "What do you support" and when they don't get any information back they can have pollyfill intervene and try to figure out what you are. They may try a bunch of things until they figure out the browser, the rough version, what's turned on and what's not.  This is the bad part of "add blocking" software that take things too far. If the library can't' communicate with your browser then you're normally dead from that point rendering anything.

In an attempt to rid you of ads and tracking they remove so much info in the browser settings that even when they aren't running sites have trouble just figuring out what you need to render the page.

I would completely remove the plugin, then go into Chromes settings and choose "Reset and clean up" at the bottom of the list on the left menu.  Then choose "Restore settings to their original defaults".

You can do a backup first or create a windows restore point right before resetting Chrome so you could revert back if needed.

Thanks Carlo for your reply. Just tried Safari without Ad-Block and this has the same problems on my Mac Mini. It looks like it is computer based somehow and not only Chrome.

Please follow the steps I asked you to try IP & name as well as supplying the server logs.

Appreciated,
Carlo
