Let emby ignore the embeded metadata file date | YTDLP date wrong

I am currently redoing/refreshing my emby install and i am trying to fix a problem i have had for years (NOT embys fault).

I got many youtube videos automatically downloaded and sorted by ytdlp, the thing is it set the date in the metadata wrong like 20210516 instead of 2021-05-16 so emby picks the videos up from the year 20210516 instead of 16 Mai 2021. In the file name the date is written correct in 2021-05-16.

Whats the best way to fix this?

Is there a way that emby just ignores the metadata date and takes it from the filename?

This effect nearly 400k videofiles so manual fixing is out of question, do you know any good scripts that could fix this

Thx :)

Can you show a specific example of what shows in the UI and the embedded file data.

So in the metadata editor what value does it show for the year?

So the embedded tag has bad information.  There are no options to ignore embedded tags that I know of.

We would need to see the embedded tags.

But would assume the dev would have to parse the tag to 4 digits from a specific format.

We do have a sanity check on the year value, but it is missing from one place, so maybe that is the problem .That's easily fixed.
