rolix 0
Hello, All of a sudden, both Roku devices stopped playing Emby media. I used Emby on both within 2-5 days. Today, when launching the Roku channel, I got prompted to select server and login. The next screen is a pop-up telling me I need to upgrade server. If I chose OK, it will load forever ( not sure what exactly, stopped it every time as it is not the expected outcome). Here is the error : "The Emby Server needs to be updated. To download the latest version , please visit https://emby.media" One of the Roku-s is a Roku Ultra 4660X2 FW 11.0 Roku Emby app/channel is version 4.0.63 ( removed and added 2 times today but when errors shows it still says 4.0.63) Emby server (v4.5.4.0) is running on a Synology DS-218+ (DSM 6.2.4-25556 Update 6) . I am able to connect to the server on a PC browser and nothing seems out of the ordinary , while on browser. Because of this, I'd suspect it's a Roku app issue. Anyone having this issue? What could be causing this? Is the version of Emby causing this ( too old)? BTW, I've postponed updating the Synology DSM to v7 due to the Emby issues on that version ( when it initially became available) so I hope upgrading Emby won't require a DSM7 upgrade . Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Solution roaku 795 Posted September 6, 2022 Solution Share Posted September 6, 2022 The error message is not enigmatic. You need to follow its instructions. The Roku system automatically updates apps, so you have the latest app with the latest features/fixes trying to connect to an old server that doesn't have those features/fixes. Emby is still supporting DSM6. You just need to download the package for your model from Emby and upload it manually through your Synology package manager. rolix 0
Thanks for letting me know I need to upgrade the Emby server on the Synology (DSM6). I will try to do this tonight and will post back. I was able to find the download here https://emby.media/synology6-server.html and it looks like for DS-218+ I need to download the Emby server for ARMv8 (x18 series) based on documentation found here https://kb.synology.com/en-us/DSM/tutorial/What_kind_of_CPU_does_my_NAS_have Thanks again! Happy2Play 8296
@rolix Pretty sure it should be the 64-bit version according to the Architecture per Synology model link on download page. rolix 0
Happy2Play- thanks for pointing that out! I cannot reach the github URL ( blocked) and matched the x18 from the URL I included above with the x18 from the list of available downloads. I will delete the URL I included in my previous post, if allowed. Thanks again!

But believe all Intel processors are x64. As for delete I believe it limited for new users until after 25 posts and the move from Member to Members group. For the most part, yes. There are some older lower end models with Intel x86 processors. The DS415play I believe was one of the last ones specs of the J3355: Intel Celeron Processor J3355 2M Cache up to 2.50 GHz Product Specifications
