marshallwyoung 5
If my emby server is on a pc running a vpn, will it route all traffic through the internet or does it remain local? For example, if I watch 100gb of data on the emby app within my home network with remote access is turned on, and the server has a vpn connection, will that 100gb count toward my isp usage because its routed through the internet via the vpn, or is it all data simply routed through the local network? Happy2Play 8281
While on your home network it shouldn't be using ISP data or VPN.
marshallwyoung 5
I turned off everything in my house except for my PC, the VPN and my fire cube and I played a 4k movie. I checked my ISP data usage before and after and it went up over 10 Gb, the VPN even has emby split tunneling so it should be local but it's not, it's eating up my data. rbjtech 4260
In the emby network settings, ensure you have specified the LAN network only for the local IP address. Also ensure your split tunneling is setup correctly. A log would show what emby is binding itself to. Edited September 20, 2022 by rbjtech
