QNAP security and port forwarding

I am just learning about this QNAP security issue where they recommend not exposing an NAS to the internet and disabling port forwarding. That's the only way I can get remote access to Emby to work. Should I be concerned?

Right now I am running a TS-128.

They're going to say that to cover their butts. The important thing is you want to make sure that only the specific ports you need are exposed to the internet.

How do I find out what ports are exposed?

In your router port forwarding options. Have you taken a look at that?

also changing default Emby port or public open port could be a good security masure

How would I do that?

Emby server network settings. Don't forget to configure your router to match.
