I'm a newcomer to Emby with a monthly subscription and I have a problem with the Theatre app not waking the Server on which Emby is installed (running in an Unraid NAS docker). Just to say that WOL is working fine over my LAN, and I've even setup an Alexa skill to wake the NAS Server if asked! I have an Android App that wakes the server OK, and I can also wake the server from my Windows 10 PC using a command line: wolcmd 00-25-22-E6-60-79 192.168.1.102 255.255.255.0 9 i.e. wolcmd [mac address] [ipaddress] [subnet mask] [port number] I have Wolsniffer that reports WOL packets on the network. This wakes the Unraid/'NAS' server fine. Have I missed a setting somewhere in the client/server/emby connect? I would like the Theatre app to wake the server and if at all possible send a WOL packet automatically if the server is not found when the app starts. Thanks for any help! I've been doing some additional detective work at my end and I may have stumbled across a possible underlying reason why this may be screwed up. With Emby Theatre (ET) being agnostic towards more than one server to be woken up, there is only one place where the 'client' would and could get the MAC address for the server, and that would have been from the server itself when the client was first installed and connected to the Emby Server. So I installed ET on a another PC which has never had it before and I went through the process of connecting, putting server to sleep and then trying to wake it from the ET GUI, I had the Wolsniffer on my other PC and picked up two WOL broadcasts from the one press of the wake button (only posting the one here for brevity). So I had installed 'binhex-emby' and not the 'Official' Emby Server (which I found by further looking down the list of Apps). So I stopped the binhex-emby server and installed the 'Official' Emby Server in another docker. Long story short,.... and having uninstalled ET and re-installed and re-connected initially back with the 'new' Emby Server on Unraid, ET would still not wake up the server, but hold the front page........... there were many WOL requests this time from the single press of the wake option in the ET Gui, The first six of the requests had the correct MAC address, but the source IP was strange still. The destination IP was 255.255.255.255 whereas the WOLCMD on a command line sends the broadcast to 192.168.1.255. Thereafter there are 8 more WOL requests with 4 different MAC addresses. In all instances there was an extra "password" token in the WOL requests which not in the command line request,. (See below). So, looks like binhex-emby on Unraid screwed things up and did not pass the correct MAC back to the client to use on wake, but the officiial Emby Server although using the right MAC address, broadcast it on a different IP on the network which did not wake the PC. When the server is off and I open the Emby app on the shield, I have to select the server at which point it immediately sends out the following WOL broadcast. You will see it has a recognisable IP sending address as being on the LAN (i.e. 192.168.1.149), the first 3 entries have the correct MAC,, destination is 255.255.255.255, and no 'password' token ..... and one of these requests actually woke the server up and kept it awake even when I tried to manually put the server to sleep! Go figure! As a result, the malformed WOL packet is still not waking my Unraid server on which the Emby Server is running in a docker but for which the Unraid Server is not running 24/7 but can be woken with a WOL packet. Thanks. Hi, I'm not sure what your issue is, but I don't think the packet is malformed because then nobody would be able to use WOL. What I would suggest is to stay tuned. I think the underlying issue is that Emby is running in a docker on Unraid and as such the Emby 'server' has a different IP and different MAC to the actual Unraid server (physical server) which needs waking up!
