Standalone Wi-fi to Ethernet adaptor

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Any recommendations for a wifi to ethernet stand-alone device? I'm moving to somewhere where only wifi is available, but I have a couple of devices that need ethernet. I don't want the device to run off my PC.

Thanks

Powerline adapter with Wi-Fi.  There are Wi-Fi to Ethernet adapters like this way too expensive old model https://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-Universal-Ethernet-Adapter-WNCE2001/dp/B003KPBRRW.  I think some Wi-Fi extenders also have Ethernet ports.

Or, an old router??

Thanks and yup, that's quite pricey :)

I'll look into the Powerline, I even think I have a couple laying around somewhere.

I have used a TP-Link AC750 in Client Mode in the past - seems to work well.

These are great little devices - can work as a wifi-extender, ethernet to wifi ap or client mode (wifi to ethernet).

These are £33 / $40  on Amazon
