How to use Madvr on Emby Server and view it on Nvdia Shield?

Hi,

I had a question and I did not see this elsewhere on the forums. I have emby server setup on a server which also has high end graphics card on it. I watch emby via the app on Nvidia Shield Pro. I wanted to understand whether Emby can utilize MadVR software processing while I watch the content via emby client app on Nvidia Shield pro 2019?

If yes, is this the guide on how to implement this?

Any other HDR tonemapping software or hardware which will help improve my image quality while watching movies on emby client app ?

Thanks for all the help in advance.

Hi, there is no way to use madvr on nvidia shield, but Emby Server can do tone mapping when transcoding if needed.

Nvidia Shield running Emby -> DeckLink capture card -> VideoProcessor -> madVR 113 or earlier -> Display.

Each time Emby server does transcoding , it would generate log entry which I can see in server logs?

I tried watching 4K Remux movie from my laptop and it did generate transcoding entry in server log file which I can view under Emby server. But when I played the same movie via Nvidia Shield on my projector it did not create any log entry. So should I assume that Emby server did no transcoding when watched via Shield?

This feels so backwards. A Shield and an HPTC? I haven't really looked at Video Processor much, but thats a long chain of devices.
