Plugin - Listify Playlist Auto Pruner

roaku

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone.

I've got a new playlist management plugin that's ready for beta testing.

I think it will come in handy for anyone who's tired of manually removing watched items from their 'watchlist' playlists.

This is where Listify comes in.

Listify will automatically prune watched items from your playlists when configured users watch an item to completion or manually mark it as watched.

The profile pictures of the configured users are dynamically added to the managed playlists so users can tell at a glance how the playlists are being managed by Listify.

I'm finding it useful, and I hope others will too.

A beta build is attached to the next post. Please give it a try.

I've attached the initial BETA version 0.9.0 to the second thread post for anyone who's interested in giving this a try.

Configuration is pretty straightforward. Just use the selector at the top of the page to add an existing Emby playlist(s), then use 'Manage Users' dialog to add up to 3 users, then click the 'Active' switch to activate auto-pruning for your playlist(s).

Use the 'Remove' button to stop Listify from managing a playlist. This won't delete your playlist from Emby itself.

--------------

If your users have profile images, Listify will add them to the images of the playlists images it's auto-pruning for you.

Right now image enhancement is only available for Skia based Emby builds. Future versions will add support for Emby builds that use ImageMagick.

Future versions will also add support for configuring the image overlays.

--------------

Once configured, Listify should automatically prune watched items from your managed playlists when *configured* users watch an item to completion or manually mark it as watched through Emby. If it doesn't please let me know!

I've attached an updated version 0.9.1.1 for compatibility with the final Emby 4.8 release.

It also adds experimental support for the netvips image processing library.

I'd update the first post, but I'm not allowed to do that anymore. 🤷‍♂️

Download it here.

I'm thinking about re-working this plugin to take advantage of the new user playlist permission structures.

We might be able to end up with something cleaner that lets each user configure their own auto-prune lists.
