Thumbnails für Videos werden nicht generiert!

Hallo,

bei mir werden unter FreeBSD 13 für Videodateien keine Thumbnails erzeugt.
Installiert ist die letzte Paketversion, die für FreeBSD 13 verfügbar ist: emby-server-4.6.7.0_2

Unter VIDEO-VORSCHAUBILDER habe ich eingestellt: "Als geplante Aufgabe und wenn Medien hinzugefügt werden".

Und bei GEPLANTE AUFGABEN habe ich "On Application Startup" ausgewählt, aber auch mehrmals manuell "Thumbnail Video extraction" gestartet.

Leider erfolglos, denn für die beiden hochgeladenen Testvideos (h264/mp4) werden nur die normalen Place-Holder angezeigt.

Irgendwelche *.bif-Dateien habe ich auf meinem Server nicht gefunden. In welchem Verzeichnis müssten die unter FreeBSD denn liegen, wenn sie ordnungsgemäß generiert würden?

Und woran könnte es liegen, dass die Thumbnails nicht generiert werden?

What Thumbnail interval have you selected, Chapter markers (5 min) or 10 seconds (.bifs)?

I tried both versions Chapter Markers and 10 seconds!

Guten Morgen,

in meinem Video-Verzeichnis liegen inzwischen auch zwei bif-Dateien, vermutlich weil ich gestern irgendwann auch die Option "Video-Vorschaubilder in Medienverzeichnissen speichern" aktiviert hatte.

Trotzdem werden nach wie vor nur die Placeholder-Thumbnails für meine vier Video-Testdateien angezeigt und nicht die o. a. *.bif.

Hat jemand eine Idee, woran das liegen könnte?

Was mich auch wundert: Wenn ich die Thumbnail-Erzeugung manuell anstoße, läuft diese manchmal über einen längeren Zeitraum ab (mit Fortschrittsanzeige) und trotzdem steht dort später bei "Benötigte Zeit" 0 Sekunden.

Bei FILMBILDBESCHAFFER habe ich SCREENGRABBER aktiviert.

Auch "Bildmaterial in Medienordnern speichern" ist aktiv.

Not sure I understand what the issue is, I thought you ain't getting .bifs created, but since they're written in media folders it would indicate permissions are okay, could you share a screenshot of which thumbnails you're referring to? 

Edit: Also, can you post server log after extraction task run?

thanks for your assistance!

Meanwhile I managed to solve the problem: Changes in the settings afterwards for already  did not help but deleting the certain videos and then uploading them again in connection with a library scan and a manual start of the thumbnail generation worked.

Two questions:

1) Is it possible that the deactivated "Screengrabber" was the reason?

2) Can I manage rescanning of libraries and thumbnail generation via cronjobs?

Glad you sorted it out (but still don't know which thumbnaios you were referring to). 

In any case, any change in library settings regarding metadata/artwork settings usually applies only to newly added content. For existing content, depending on task required, either Refresh Metadata>Replace All or moving it out of the library, scanning, returning it (as a new item), scan is required - as you've discovered yourself.

Screengrabber is used for locally extracting images from video files, depending on its position in artwork scraper order it might or might not provide for example Primary image, but has no influence on Chapter Markers or 10-seconds bif generation. It is usually last resort to get artwork if all online scrapers fail.

I would assume it could be done via API calls or maybe ScripterX plugin, but someone proficient in Linux might chime in regarding that.
