isarris 0
Hi, Emby misidentifies a certain movie. I tried to help it by creating an .nfo file. The .nfo filename is <movie filename>.nfo in the same folder as the movie itself, but although it exists in both IMDB and TMDB, Emby either can't find it or can't parse the .nfo file. As for tor the contents of the .nfo file I tried: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1172049/ and when this didn't work, I tried: <imdbid>tt1172049</imdbid> but this didn't work either. Emby just can't identify the movie. After editing the .nfo file I do "Refresh metadata" only on the movie itself, selecting "Replace all metadata". Is this the right way to do it? Is the .nfo file correct? Any idea what else I can try? TIA ilias Edited June 1, 2022 by isarris

Happy2Play 8321
Actually, did you format your nfo file? As you can see <imdbid>tt1172049</imdbid> was used. 2022-05-31 18:07:38.917 Info LibraryMonitor: Test 2 (C:\Users\Media\Desktop\Videos\Test 2) will be refreshed. 2022-05-31 18:07:38.993 Debug App: Running FFProbeProvider for C:\Users\Media\Desktop\Videos\Test 2\Demolition\Demolition.strm 2022-05-31 18:07:38.994 Debug App: Running MovieNfoProvider for C:\Users\Media\Desktop\Videos\Test 2\Demolition\Demolition.strm 2022-05-31 18:07:39.062 Debug App: Running MovieDbProvider for C:\Users\Media\Desktop\Videos\Test 2\Demolition\Demolition.strm 2022-05-31 18:07:39.063 Info HttpClient: GET https://api.themoviedb.org/3/movie/tt0322259?api_key=f6bd687ffa63cd282b6ff2c6877f2669&append_to_response=casts,releases,images,keywords,trailers&language=en&include_image_language=en,null Here is what I just tested. Spoiler <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" standalone="yes"?> <movie> <imdbid>tt0322259</imdbid> </movie> But I don't believe Emby will just read a file with a IMDB url containing the ID like your first test. isarris 0
Thanks Happy2Play, my updated .nfo file now reads (same as yours): <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" standalone="yes"?> <movie> <imdbid>tt0322259</imdbid> </movie> However, the problem seems to be that "Refresh metadata" doesn't do what I thought it would do. In fact, it doesn't seem that it causes Emby to go out and refetch metadata based on the updated .nfo file. isarris 0
Ok, I removed and readded the movie to the library folder, rescanned the library, and Emby finally found it. This is really frustrating, is that really what we have to do in order for Emby to pick up the updated .nfo file? Doing "Refresh metadata" on the movie AFTER it was imported does NOT work, it does not pick up the updated .nfo file. Could you pls run a test to confirm? isarris 0
Exact steps: I scan library and import new movies. I realize that Emby didn't identify a movie correctly. I create an .nfo file in the same folder the movie is in and same filename. FOLDER X movie Y.mkv movie Y.nfo In Emby I open the 3 dots movie menu (...), select "Refresh Metadata" and then "Replace all metadata" It doesn''t work, no metadata refresh happens. Is this the correct workflow? What am I doing wrong here?

Luke 37151
I've tested the file name: Demolition.2015.1080p.BluRay.x265-RARBG.mp4 And it worked just fine.
seanbuff 842
6 hours ago, isarris said: Exact steps: I scan library and import new movies. Is there a reason you're not just doing an 'Identify' via the (...) menu at Step .3 instead of creating an .nfo file?
