Movies in 1080p and 4K

I have the case of films in 1080p and 4K.
One is in a '1080p movies' library and the other is in a '4K movies' library. Because some devices cannot read 4K or x265 or very badly and jerkily.
If I start reading one of the two versions and decide to stop, I have the two thumbnails that display 'Continue Watching'. And it is not possible to know easily which one is 1080 and which one is 4K.
Is there a place in the settings where I can only show the thumbnail of the version of the movie I started?
Only in 'continue watching', since at the end both versions will be considered as read, which is normal.
Thank you

You should use multi-versioning feature, which will result in single item in Continue Watching row and multi-version dropdown selector in item detail view, in either of three ways:

1) Put all different files in same folder and follow naming convention for multi-version movies

https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001159102-movie-naming

2) Multi-select and select "Group Versions" in three-dot menu

3) Use community-made Auto-Grouping plugin which works across folders

@Faucheuse Thank you.
I didn't understand where I can multiselect my two files and then '...'

Edit : I found, I had never used this menu.
And it seems to work even though I haven't installed the plugin

I just realized it was three solutions, not a three step solution.
My English is definitely very bad...

3 is the cleanest and simplest IMO. supports use of the *arrs

i prefer option 3. you can keep your 4k and 1080p media in separate root folders which is compatible with the use of sonarr and / or radarr. if you use either of these and put the multi version media in the same folders then sonarr and radarr removes the lower quality version when it adds a higher quality version (as it is designed to).

emby naturally combines tv series in different root folders so nothing to be done there

the Auto Movie Version Grouping plugin will do the same for movies

multi version selection presented like so

Does that mean option 2 does not work across folders ?

2 would require manual grouping. 3 is automatic.

3 can sometimes be a pain if emby mis-identifies something because as soon as you separate the versions to correct the identification they get immediately combined again. but since i stopped using emby for metadata i havent had that problem

Thanks. I really should give (one of) these a go (I've got about six versions of the original Star Wars and if I play one there's hardly room for anything else on Now Playing...)

Yes, for me it was mainly that I found it boring to have several thumbnails for the same film.
I am testing version 2.

Does 'multi version' also work for series (1080p and 4K for example)?

yes - emby automatically merges media from the same tv show that is held in different folders/disks

I did a test with a 1080p series in one folder and the same series in another folder in 4K and the grouping does not work.

Can you post screenshots of how the two episode sets of files appear in windows explorer?

Yet emby recognizes both series correctly. The only thing is that he does not group them
