horstepipe 356
Hello I mux external VobSubs subs or srt subs inside my mkv and mark them as default and forced if necessary, see screenshot. I set the subtitle settings to only show forced subtitles. But they are not enabled if I start playback. The all show the same as above. Since no langues is set "Default" will take priority.
horstepipe 356
thanks, I'll take a look at that problem again, trying to isolate the problem.
horstepipe 356
soo I revisited that problem. If I set subtitle language to "Any language" the forced subtitles are being chosen fine. But if I set the language to "German" they are not selected. @Happy2Play would you please try the sample again with these settings? Preferred subtitle language: German subtitel mode: only forced subtitles Best regards Edited June 21, 2022 by horstepipe
horstepipe 356
ok that's still not the core of the problem, mhh seems hard to track down Edited June 21, 2022 by horstepipe
horstepipe 356
@Luke or @ebr would any of you please mind taking a look at the inapp log sent at 11:00 (Germany)? Probably the issue only comes up with strm files - but I also saw this with "regular" videos. In this example I started an unplayed episode, no subtitles were enabled on playback start. But after I quit playback, I see in info dialogue that forced subtitles are enabled. If I start the video again, they are enabled, too. Happy2Play 8351
So here it a mixed issue as you have two subtitle tracks that are Forced but Default/Forced is more important then just Forced is my takeaway.

horstepipe 356
Sooo I tested the devices I'm currently having access to, it just does not work with the Android TV app. So it works on Windows with Emby Theater, on the IOS app and on the Android Mobile app on the shield. But it definitely does not work on the Android TV app. Could anybody please confirm that who has an Android TV box and 10 minutes? horstepipe 356
Same on Fire OS with the Android TV app, log sent at 10:43 (Germany). So to summarize: Problem only occurs for strm files which are being ffprobed just at first playback start Problem only occurs on Android TV app Behavior: On first playback the file is being probed and the server chooses the correct subtitles as default (which you can see after playback or on another client) But on first playback the client does not choose these subtitles

Luke 37232
Hi, can you try sideloading our standard android app on the same device and let us know how that compares? https://emby.media/emby-for-android.html Thanks !

horstepipe 356
FYI this is not only about subtitles (with strm files). You can also just access the automatically generated chapters on second playback (and all further playbacks). So like for the subtitle Problem the info is not being seen by Emby for Android TV on first playback of the file.
