Hi All,

I setup emby in my unraid server the other day, and just connected the app with my server.

Uploaded images and videos on my device.

But, the quality of the pictures on the server are potato quality.

I even tried downloading to make sure it wasn't a view on server side only.

But it has absolutely crushed the quality, I don't see anything about upload quality.

Anyone have anything on this?

Cheers

Hi,

Sure, no problem.

Nothing but uploading and downloading happened here.

These are screen grabs from them, but it shows the issue.

I clicked on the photo in my library and took a screenshot, that's the higher res one, the 5mb, did the same on emby, selected the image and screenshot. Emby doesn't show the image in full Res, and I have no way of confirming it because I can't see any details about the image.

Also, the images once uploaded seem to have no reference to the file size or resolution.

Cheers.

I think it's just our photo slideshow. We'll look at improving that. When you use the camera upload feature, the original file is uploaded as-is without any modification, so you still technically  have the original in your library.

Hi,

That's good to hear.

So, I have downloaded the the pictures from the server, which means they should be stored locally.

I see them under downloaded, how do I see these images outside of emby in my file storage, so that I can easily move them and share them elsewhere?

Thanks for your reply, I appreciate it. 👍

Cheers.

Hi, you're probably going to have to use the google files app because I think that is the only app that will have access to the folder.

Hi,

That's what I thought, but I'm unable to see it in any folder.

What would be the process of using the files once they are offline, other than for viewing?

They seem to be locked to the emby system, and unable to share them elsewhere outside of the ecosystem.

For example, I'm trying to restore the images to my Google photos, I'd like to download them locally then upload them to Google photos. (A quick easy wat to do so)

But I see no way of accessing the folder.

Hopefully you understand my situation and can advise.

Many thanks,

:)

Hi,

I still haven't found a way.yo retrieve the images at full quality from emby.

I have downloaded them locally, but downloading them doesn't give me anything.

I can't find the storage location of where they are stored.

Also, there's no share feature.

The share feature just shares a link to the file, for example it gives my local download link, which when navigated to will download the image with full quality.

The share feature doesn't actually share the files.

Also when you have multi-select there is no share option.

I'd like the option to share images to a separate location, e.g share to Google photos and upload the images.

But the main issue, is I don't see a way to get full size images for easy usage with other apps on my phone.

I can download, and multi download.

But I can't do anything with them.

They are only accessible and usable with in emby ecosystem.

Am I missing something?

It wouldn't be as bad if I could actually view my images in full quality on emby itself.

Also it could do with showing the quality of the file itself, resolution and filesize.

Cheers

Using Google files to look through all folders on the phone.

I don't see a folder for emby.

That being said, the share feature doesn't provide the option to share images (only links atm)

Using emby as a central repository, it would be good to use it to push out to my other backup locations like Google drive.

If you know where the files are stored once downloaded, where I can access them outside emby then from there should be able to use android regular image features etc...

Cheers

You'd have to find the system folder where app data is stored for all apps, then underneath that look for com.mb.android. Please let us know if that helps. Thanks.
