Milldor 14
When controlling volume with a remote or keyboard command the system volume will change and the in app volume will change. This would be fine if they were in sync but they are not. Could the volume controls be separated completely or could the in app volume reflect the actual system volume. So if I were to open the app with system volume of 50% the app would report this as well. Emby theater and browser is affected by this.

Milldor 14
With any media key controlling volume, system and emby volume is linked and independent at the same time.... If volume goes up or down it affects both system and app volume similary. But they are not linked with the values.. Windows can be at 50 and emby at 80. But then it's a mess about to get them equal or to adjust it beyond certain amounts because of this... It would be better if emby did not have its own independent volume or if they were linked. Carlo 4330
Hi, Think through what you're asking and then ask yourself if you would say the same for Windows Movie Player, Kodi, VLC, etc They will each play audio at different levels as there is no one-stop "correct" volume setting. The ideal settings I would use is to adjust the master volume of PC or device with app at 100% volume. Once you've tested all normal apps you use add maybe 10% to 20% on top of this max setting for a little cushion. Now in each app you adjust volume or "normalize" the volume for typical output. You might have the app volume at 75% to 90% for theater like sound while 35%-50% at night in the app so as not to bounce anyone out of bed. In a nutshell you use the system volume as a max or limited output that helps to temper down the sounds that would otherwise startle the neighbors. You probably will still notice one media item requires a 90% volume in the app and another $50 or worse yet the same video with action requires you to turn down volume while softer spoken parts require turning up the volume. Nothing you can do about that unless you take the time to normalize your media before adding it to Emby or you have hardware or dedicated device that does normalization or limiting for you.
