image issues and permissions

Recently, I have discovered most of my image problems were persistent with two drives.

The problems consisted of :

- Backdrop images replacing posters, even after a master scan.

- Missing posters from a library home page.

- Difficulty recognizing a drive.

A survey of my drives/libraries revealed a junk yard of users, ownerships and permissions.

The takeown.exe and icacls command were used to set ownership to the administrators and reset all permissions.

These were applied to all directories and files on all drives/libraries.

Previous problems in keeping hand picked poster and backdrop images were resolved in this solution as well as an  unrecognizable drive issue were resolved in this solution.

A knowledge of permissions and ownership was required.
