"Display in secondary home screen ....latest media" no PHOTOS

Hi, so I have this option turned on, for my home video/photo library, which is created as a home video photo library, but on the home screen, the "latest media" only shows videos that I add, not showing photos. Although I could swear I saw photos there once, but today I added about 6 videos and 6 photos, and only the videos from today and from yesterday are showing up (photos from today are not showing up)

I do have enabled photos for the library, and it's definitely showing both when I go in the folders; is there a reason photos don't show up in the "latest" media, or is it just a fluke that it only shows "the latest 10 or latest xx" and those last xx were all videos. How does it show them, in order of date added to the library, file name?
