Phone Video Aspect Ratio

Recommended Posts

Hi all

I have a video which was taking on a mobile phone (Samsung ZFLIP 3) in Portrait mode. When its played on the phone, its full screen as I hold the phone.

However, on Emby, it rotates and I need to turn my phone. Therefore the video is really small on screen with the black empty space either side.

Any idea why this is?

Hi, if you're holding the phone in landscape orientation, this would be expected, right?

Im not doing that. Emby rotates it by itself so in order for me to watch the video I HAVE to turn my phone so my eyes can see it correctly !

Right but I mean, if you were going to put it in landscape, then the way it looks is expected, right?

Hey,

With the same configuration (and same phone) for the same ratio soo when I watch movie (or else) with subtitle then the position of it is not good

I need to turn it before for have the position of subtitle good :(

You can see on the screen where is the subtitle if I didn't do the rotation before

Hope you can fixe :)),

Is there a way to save my video aspect ratio to fill, for everything instead of doing it for every movie?? See picture below

Playing with external player is better for full screen in vlc , but cant see movie name or artwork, is there an improvememt for emby media player coming soon?? Or maybe a vlc integration?

Hi, there's no way to save it, but this question has come up before and is possible for future updates. Thanks.
