Svennie 4
Luke 37099
Hi there is can we please look at an example? Thanks.
Svennie 4
I don't know what logs are needed here. I have the emby-server log in the link. https://www.dropbox.com/s/4sbt4bffzhtbpnl/embyserver(2).txt?dl=0 Again to explanation: User start a channel in LiveTV. If the live stream is ended by the user or the user switches on another stream, the first stream continues to run in the background and is only ended when the emby server is shut down. ffmpeg-transcode-2114abf4-beda-4afa-abff-c75be8ef6635_1.txt
Luke 37099
Hi, if you play using the web app, does the same thing happen there?
Svennie 4
Yes, it's like that with the webapp and with the firetv from time to time. I tested it with Emby beta and stable. The same for both versions. My tuner can offer 8 streams and is often fully booked even though only 1 or 2 people are watching TV. EDIT: Nobody is currently watching via my emby server, but two live TV channels are being transcoded. In the transcoding temp there are two TS files, each with a size of 50 and 30 GB, and these are exactly the channels that are currently still being streamed, although nobody is watching. Svennie 4
The file is unfortunately a bit large, so via Dropbox. https://www.dropbox.com/s/zvgfec5g5c81hr2/embyserver-63782085374.txt?dl=
Luke 37099
Hi, there are requests from an android tv device coming in almost the entire time. are you sure they stopped playing?
Svennie 4
Today it was definitely a web client that probably didn't end the streams even though they were no longer running on the server. The first picture shows the four streams that are currently being forwarded from the VU+ box to emby. The IP 192.168.178.96 is the emby server. The second picture shows the status for playback in the emby backend. Only one LiveTV channel is running here and a video is being streamed. The last two pictures show how the transmitters were started and stopped. However, one station started twice. For whatever reason. Spoiler
Luke 37099
Why do you think the station started twice? Is it just because of those activity messages?
Svennie 4
Spoiler You can see that in the third picture. The station is called "NDR FS SH". The station started twice but only ended once. The "VoxUP" station only started once, was terminated by the web client, but continues to run in the background and is no longer displayed in the emby backend. Svennie 4
I'm at home now and I've looked into the transcoding temp folder. I currently have 5 ts files there. 2 LiveTV channels are being watched and 3 channels are just running in the background, although the client is no longer switched on. The files in the temp folder are getting bigger and bigger. I have attached a picture of the folder. The files marked in yellow are the channels that are no longer watched. embyserver-63782208003.txt Edited March 7, 2022 by Svennie

I would suggest to make sure these users enable the "Are you still watching prompt" in the app they are using.

However, the LiveTV stream continues to run on the server and the file on the hard drive in the emby-Temp folder is getting bigger and bigger. "Are you still watching", I even turned it on myself at the user.

Luke 37099
A few things you could try: Update to the latest beta server Shutdown the server, then delete all plugin .dll files from C:\Users\Sven\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\programdata\plugins Blank out the server transcoding temp files location option to set it back to default Then let us know how that compares. Thanks.
