Why is Internet connection required when using emby server or LG app?

Hello,

I recently, Feb 18, installed Emby on an older PC (2008) and in my LG 4K television. During my ordeal with the PC, I discovered the program uses the internet connection and not just the wifi. The web graphics loads slow down noticeably and a similar effect on the LG app. In fact the loafs are so slow, I thought they had stopped. I disconnected the DSL modem and left the router running. I checked to make sure I still had wifi on both devices. The LG app came to a virtual halt until I reconnected the modem.

I read elsewhere that this could occur if the two were connected by a domain. What is that?
The initial problem occurs when my ISP slows the speed down to almost nothing.

The speed of operation picks up once the LG app initializes, but that can take a couple of minutes and then, not all images in all libraries are loaded.

This is an old issue, I believe. Will nothing be done about the problem.

I am not using the Premier version.

Thanks.

HI, neither the Emby app nor Emby Server specifically require an internet connection.

But I think a connection is required to run any LG app from the store, if I'm not mistaken.
