Connection Error on Apple TV’s

I skip past Emby connect to the page it asks for your Emby url - I enter in the info I was give (it’s a friends server) and I get connection error. Doesn’t matter what variation of the info I put in, I can’t get in on any of my Apple TV’s now. I was signed in but the app has updated and now I can’t.

Ive tried:

port xxxx

just the port number alone

xxxxx.my.ddns.me port xxxx

xxxxx.myddns.me

xxxxx.myddns.me:xxxx

Everytime I get connection error.

PLEASE tell me how to get into Emby!

Hi,

Have you attempted to connect via another device (iPhone, Android, Web (app.emby.media)) just to rule out any remote connectivity issues to your friends server?

We are connected on all our iPhones and iPads and smart tv without any issue. It’s just the Apple TV’s that won’t work and have a completely different login screen. None of the ones that work give me an Emby connect page then asks for an Emby url. So I don’t get it. It’s an Apple TV issue clearly.

Hi @thedagenais’ it doesn't have to be, but you should know what it is. In other words, your friend should tell you.

Do you know which it is, http or https?

Get your friend to check the Dashboard of his server, and give you the 'Remote (WAN)' address

Yea he should know the URL of his own server. He can get it from the web interface on his emby server. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.
