External HD Reccomendation

Hi All,

I am running an Emby server on a NUC using an external 500GB SSD drive. It served me well so far for 1080p content but with 4K it's now very tight on space; it's also started playing up so it's time for a change and looking for recommendations.

I typically delete watched items or save copies on my NAS which I prefer to use more as a "cold storage" so a HUGE HD is not that important. Around 2TB should do the trick which raises the question of stick to SSD or go back to HDD? Cost wise is not a major issue and I do prefer the simplicity of SSD in terms of no-noise but with typical 4K single TV episodes being around 8GB each I'm a little concerned about the longevity of the SSD vs the HDD due to high write cycles. 

Would love to hear your thoughts.

HI, if you really only need that small size then you can't beat an SSD. I think chances are you'll be upgrading again down the road before longevity becomes an issue.
