kkhan 16
I have an emby system which has been running pretty much 24x7 for the past 7 years or so with 40TB of storage. I want to completely refresh the emby database. Any pitfalls and gotchas I need to be aware of before I proceed to delete the database file. I have manually entered metadata for some media which I do not want to lose but my understanding is that I will not; likewise with media play states. Artwork and metadata is held locally in folders so during the database rebuild those should be picked up. Thanks for any input
Luke 37367
The database also contains user watched data and favorites, so you could wind up losing that. Our backup option can help you restore that into the new database.
kkhan 16
Thanks Luke. I have been using the backup option for a long time but have never had cause to do a restore. I will do a test restore on test emby instance first to make sure I nail the process.
