albundy9999 0
I tried to go through many posts in this community and still wasn't sure if it is necessary upgrade the WD NAS to My Cloud OS 5? I don't need remote access and only use the NAS for the sole purpose of streaming movies with Emby (a great product). Everything is working just fine now with the current state of NAS running My Cloud OS 3. As I read others have issues with days of indexing when they upgrade their WD NAS to My Cloud OS 5, I am very hesitant of doing the upgrade. Could anyone share the advantages of upgrading the WD NAS to My Cloud OS 5 for the sole purpose of using Emby on it? Thanks. Happy holidays, everyone! Luke 37178
Hi there, what model do you have? We still produce OS 3 packages where possible: https://emby.media/download
albundy9999 0
Thanks for supporting My Cloud EX2 Ultra on OS 3 as I only have Emby running on it. Emby ran really well on OS 3, so I bought the app unlock for Emby. I will leave the NAS running on OS 3 while it still can and do not want to upgrade the NAS to OS 5 with the fear that something may break. Remote access feature on OS 5 isn't that important to me, so I am still wondering what advantage that I would have if I upgrade to OS 5 with the sole purpose of running Emby. Not that I know of. We'll continue to support OS 3 for as long as it remains feasible. Thanks.
