usTom 2
Hi All: IIRC from a few years back I saw in the forums here that one of the video formats/encoding/containers would give you better performance on the Roku. Specifically, this file format would allow for better fast forward and reverse, maybe even chapter skipping. I could be misremembering this but now that I am building up my server again, I thought I'd check. I did a search but I didn't see anything that looked promising. I'm looking for performance in terms of skipping scenes rather than best compression or highest fidelity. Thanks.
Luke 37254
Hi, recommendations would be mp4/mkv with either h264/hevc and aac/mp3/aac. Any of Roku's supported formats should be fine: https://developer.roku.com/docs/specs/media/streaming-specifications.md Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.
