Blue screen on HDR content (3.0.15-2 Arch build)

Up until today I was using 3.0.15-1 from AUR, and it was working great out of the box with default settings.
I only found out today that Emby-theater is now in the official repo, so I un-installed 3.0.15-1, and then installed 3.0.15-2 from the official repo.
But now, all HDR content only displays a blue screen when played. The sound plays fine however. The nerd stats shows the video is direct playing:

Playback Info
  Play method: DirectPlay
  Title: Movie.mkv
  Chapter: 0

Video Info
Video codec: hevc (HEVC (High Efficiency Video Coding))
  Video bitrate: 16.7 Mbps
  Video renderer: libmpv
  Hardware acceleration: vaapi-copy
  Display sync active: false
Dropped frames: 1, Decoder dropped: 0, Mistimed: 0, Delayed: 0
  Display Fullscreen Resolution: 2560 x 1440
  Video resolution: 3840 x 1600
  Aspect ratio: 2.4000000953674316
  Pixel format: yuv420p
  Color matrix: bt.2020-ncl
  Primaries: bt.2020
  Gamma: pq
  Levels: limited

Audio Info
  Audio codec: truehd
  Audio channels: 7.1
  Audio sample rate: 48000
  Audio bitrate: 3.3 Mbps
  Audio renderer: pulse

Original Media Info
  Container: mkv
  Bitrate: 38.9 Mbps
  Video codec: HEVC Main 10
  Video bitrate: 38.9 Mbps
  Video framerate: 23.976025 fps
  Audio codec: TRUEHD
  Audio channels: 8
  Audio sample rate: 48000 Hz
  Audio bit depth: 24

Starting from the command line doesn't throw any error either.

Searching for this issue suggests switching the video output to "gpu", which I did but still same issue.
Matter of  fact, I tried all possible combinations of the video output and hardware acceleration mode settings and still a blue screen.

Playing HDR videos in the standalone MPV player works fine, so I'm not really sure why it won't work in Emby-Theater.

I'm on an Intel i7-8700K cpu with a GTX 1060 gpu, Manjaro Gnome (41.1) if that can help further.

Hi, can you show a screenshot of your video settings in the app? Thanks.

Hey Luke,

I just set everything to default for now since trying all the possible combinations doesn't seem to change anything anyway.

Here's the standalone MPV on the left and Emby Theater on the right playing side by side at the 26 sec mark, same video file.
Non HDR videos regardless of resolution play fine.

I'm having the same issue on Manjaro using the same Arch repo. I just tried to rollback to the older AUR version, but it appears that is no longer working.

I'll be interested in any updates on this issue.

I just tried Auto copy back, auto and None. All still have the Blue screen on the Linux laptop. My Windows Emby theater is fine using Auto.

Here is the process and display info on my Linux laptop.

processor      Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-1005G1 CPU @ 1.20GHz
display        Iris Plus Graphics G1 (Ice Lake)

Can you try the auto copy back option for hardware acceleration?

Still blue screen.
As I mentioned in the first post. I tried all the combinations possible and I get the blue screen every time =/

same problem, the problem occurs with HDR content, my display is not HDR so I think the problem is related to tone mapping. mpv is working correctly though, so I don't understand.

Hi guys, both the AUR package and the official package use different mpv versions, and both are also different from the system mpv. I'll look into our mpv build and see if it might be missing something.

I downloaded the .deb package from downloads page and on Zorin OS (Ubuntu) and Ubuntu Budgie I get a blue screen on my desktop and my laptop on HDR videos. The content works fine when playing straight from the server with VLC. It also worked fine in Windows 10. The desktop has a ryzen 5 2600 with a gtx 1060 card and the laptop is running a ryzen 5600U. PS - before you ask, I did try the GPU renderer and it made no difference.

I went to the release page on Github and downloaded 3.0.14 deb release and this is working fine. Just curious if more people are having issues with 3.0.15. Thank you for the work on the proj!

@pSYoniK please try downloading the 3.0.15 .deb and see if it is corrected for you now. Thanks.
