PoBear 19 Posted November 7, 2021 Posted November 7, 2021 Hi Following a reboot of my client machine running Emby Theatre the audio on all videos is out of sync with the video playing 1-2 seconds early / video late. I've re-booted everything and the problem persists, I can play the content on the same machine and others in VLC with with no problem. I've also checked videos that has been played before without problem in Theatre and they also have the problem. I'm running 4.6.4.0 on the server and Theatre 3.0.15 on the client. Everything is running on a Gb network. Content is installed on a NAS on the same network, both machines have direct access to this. What logs do you want? All or when starting playback? Thanks
Carlo 4552 Posted November 8, 2021 Posted November 8, 2021 Do you have the same problem on that machine using Web or Theater from Windows store (different than desktop version)? In Theater for Desktop, what are your video settings?
PoBear 19 Posted November 8, 2021 Author Posted November 8, 2021 I'm running the version direct from the Emby site, I have had problems with the Store version not playing videos. I've been running this setup for months without problem with re-boots of client and server. Video settings Video Output - Auto H/W acc. - Auto Output range - auto Enable deinterlacing - auto Default audio delay - 0 audio delay (23-25fps) - 0 Enable display refresh rate switching - no Preferred refresh rate - not set Enable video display sync - Auto Enable OpenGL HQ profile - not set Enable interpolation - not set
Carlo 4552 Posted November 10, 2021 Posted November 10, 2021 Have you tried adjusting the delay settings above? What was your result?
PoBear 19 Posted November 11, 2021 Author Posted November 11, 2021 Yes, I've been playing around with Default Audio Delay but I haven't found a suitable value yet, But doing this is just a band aid, what is causing the problem in the first place? Thanks
Carlo 4552 Posted November 11, 2021 Posted November 11, 2021 Hard question to answer because it could be so many reasons.
PoBear 19 Posted November 13, 2021 Author Posted November 13, 2021 This was what we were attempting to watch last night https://1drv.ms/u/s!Ajr3DFwp3E-lgegApxbZo8R4QpSGNw?e=xPf6VQ
visproduction 282 Posted November 18, 2021 Posted November 18, 2021 Content plays back in perfect audio sync for me with Windows 10 & VLC. My download speed measures at 90 Mbps. pinging the server from my location is only 11ms. If your playback stutters directly on the 1drv.ms link, then it's perhaps the Internet connection speed, number of hops or something going on with your video player.
PoBear 19 Posted November 20, 2021 Author Posted November 20, 2021 I uploaded the file just so it could be checked in regard to the audio delay problem. It was played from a NAS device on my 1Gb local network, no internet connection was involved. Emby is setup to play it directly from the drive no transcoding is being done. I have confirmed this during payback from the config screen, I've tested the network during playback and average speed is upwards of 60Mb/sec from the playback machine to the NAS.
PoBear 19 Posted December 1, 2021 Author Posted December 1, 2021 Nothing? I've uninstalled Theater and re-installed but still have the same problem. Is it the front-end app or the server that could be the problem?
bandit8623 126 Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 (edited) have you tried enabling this? also what are your computer specs? cpu and gpu? also what windows version. i was having some weird delay 2 months ago, but it was a windows 11 beta i was running and after an update it was fixed. bandit8623 126 Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 (edited) also uninstall the store version and have you tried the desktop version? if other devices besides windows dont have delay then its not a server problem. try your phone and see if it happens there as well. https://emby.media/emby-theater.html Edited December 2, 2021 by bandit8623
