7Davids7 0
I have been using Emby for a couple of years now with no real issues. I used to have Raspberry PI's around the house using KODI and then EmbyCon to connect to the server. Recently I decided to upgrade to Premiere, so I could use the app on an iPad. I currently have 2 Samsung TV's using the Emby app directly, an iPad and numerous Android devices. All good so far. However I recently purchased an Amazon Firestick for a non smart TV I own, to replace the Raspberry PI. All seemed fine at first, it all connected fine, but wouldn't load any thumbnails. I have realised though that that isn't the only issue. Every time I turn on the Firestick, Emby server stops working on all other devices. If I reboot the server, occasionally it comes back on, however the only reliable way I have found to resolve this issue is to delete the firestick from my devices on the server. All works fine again until I add the Firestick back on and it instantly stops the server again.
chef 3749
This is a strange issue indeed. All I use is fire sticks in my home. Could we see an emby server log from when you tried to use the stick. Maybe attempt connection again. With a fresh log? Do you have premier? How many clients are connected to the server? chef 3749
I might be incorrect here, but it looks as though the FireTV is requesting images from a physical file path that is using the IP address of the server. ex. \\192.168.0.10\TV\Clarksons Farm\fanart.jpg. Perhaps Luke can comment further, but that doesn't seem right to me, and it is throwing errors when it is trying to load the images. Solution Luke 37214 Posted November 6, 2021 Solution Share Posted November 6, 2021 See this error in the ffmpeg log: 13:16:10.391 \\192.168.0.10\TV\Clarksons Farm\Clarksons.Farm.S01E08.WEBRip.x264-ION10[eztv.re].mp4: No such file or directory 13:16:10.391 Looks like your network share is down or inaccessible. Please correct that and try again. Let us know if this helps. Thanks.
7Davids7 0
Thank you both for your help It turns out my router had assigned 2 devices with the same IP, hence every time I turned on the Firestick it kicked out my NAS. I have now assigned my NAS a new static IP outside the DHCP pool. Thanks again
