oivps 0
I have been using Qtorrent + Emby for almost a year without any problem. Qbittorrent was downloading to "/home/qbtuser/Downloads/" and Emby scanning the folder and listing the files properly. Ever since I created two subfolders "downloads/movies" and "downloads/series", Emby faced this file/folder permission problem. Each time I add a new media, I should login via SSH and run chmod -R 777 /home/qbtuser/Downloads/movies and chmod -R 777 /home/qbtuser/Downloads/series to give the Emby the required access! Any solution?

Yeah, but as I said this problem started when I separated Movies and Series, before that there were no problem at all.
Q-Droid 642
If chmod "fixes" the access each time then the problem is the permissions on the newly created files/directories. Look on the Qtorrent side to see if it can create files and directories with more relaxed permissions. Or read through the link posted by Luke. There are options in that thread to define ACLs with default permissions for new media.
