MarkGil 1
Tried using both HEOS all and BubbleUPNP. The artist node when browsing shows albums and artists, as does the album node. Genre seems to show all tracks. Searching using DLNA returns no results for artists, incorrect results for albums and everything for tracks. Things it should find, it doesn't (I have the entire rolling stones catalog) and artist search for rolling came back with nothing. Things it shouldn't find, it finds (track searc seeks to be finding stuff in artist field) The media is all well tagged (FLAC) and works correctly in asset and twonkymedia. Hopefully pictures show the disaster better... Edited October 31, 2021 by MarkGil
Luke 37099
Hi there, how does the search in the web interface compare?
MarkGil 1
Its better, bit it correct. it finds all rolling stones tracks, but still fails to differentiate tracks containing a phrase from artists containing a phrase..
Luke 37099
Quote track searc seeks to be finding stuff in artist field OK, this is by design, and this is just how music apps work nowdays. As an example, try either Spotify or Apple Music and search for the word Taylor. In search results you'll see not only Taylor Swift, but also her songs and albums as well. Or try searching for 1989 and you'll see the results contain not only 1989 the album, but songs from the album as well. Now there is an area where we need to improve, and that is that matches against the main title need to be given greater weight than matches against secondary fields. But those secondary fields are often how people find things nowadays.
MarkGil 1
Any movement on this? Considering re-evaluation. I would also mention, combining all results is bad, when then client specifies what you are looking for (dlna search you have to specify track, artist album etc are part of the query) so providing other results is bad and inconsistent with every other product on the market. MarkGil 1
Is there a fix or changes in this area? Re-evaluation of a product takes time, unless there is a specific change, I'm unlikely to find the time.
MarkGil 1
Still as bad as ever with the latest version.

shipbreaker 0
DLNA search is just completely messed up. Never returns what it should, just some random stuff mostly unrelated to actual search terms.
