Synology 1921+ High Processor by Emby After Shutting Emby Down

I was doing some testing with Emby on a new Synology (DS1821+) that I purchased.  I took a 4K movie and set it to play at 480i.  I expected high processor use so that isn't the problem.

After disconnecting my iPad the high processor use continued.  I turned the iPad off and the high processor use continued.  It is running at 80 - 90% usage.

I shutdown Emby via it's off button.

When I look at the Resource Monitor/Task Manager, I see that Emby Server is running at that high processor level even though the server is stopped.  When I click the drop down I see that ffmpeg is still running.

The web part is definitely down.  ffmpeg is still running at full steam.

It appears to me that version Synology 7_4_6.4.0x86_64 may have a problem.

It took a reboot to correct the problem.

Hi, go to the Transcoding menu and make sure you have Enable throttling enabled.
If that option is not enabled Emby is going to try and convert/transcode the file as quickly as possible and will run until it's done.

Most people will want this enabled so that resources are used as needed and if a user stops playing the video the transcode can stop.

Let us know how you make out after enabling this option.
