Multiple instances of ffmpeg when transcoding

Wasn't too sure where to post this, so please move if its in the wrong spot.

Note:this is all with a file that requires transcoding.

When watching a movie on my tablet or phone there is one instance of ffmpeg running on the server. When I pause, the process stops, and when I resume it starts again - all good.

My issue is when casting to a Chromecast. It casts fine, but if I seek using the casting device, it starts a second instance of ffmpeg. In fact every time I seek it starts a new instance, all of which chew up CPU.

Additionally when I stop the stream and disconnect from the Chromecast, these instances of ffmpeg continue. The only way to stop the CPU running at 100% is to restart the mb3 server (via the web browser).

Is this a known issue? Is there a fix I just don't know about?

I was going to ask the question of why ffmpeg didn't stop if I disconnected before finishing the movie, but the seeking issue is worse I believe.
