Trevor68 48
Hi all, I have just purchased a new Chromecast With Google TV and am setting it up to replace my old Win7 box with Media Center. All is going well, down to one remote again, and setup the home screen with a shortcut to Live TV, the last hurdle no is no Surround Sound, only stereo. This is probably just me not knowing what settings to change, but I have tried with the chromecast plugged into the TV, then a optical out from the TV to my Pioneer Receiver, no go. So I changed to the Chromecast plugged directly into the Receiver, and a HDMI out from the Receiver to the TV, still no go. This is with any of my existing media that played fine through the old win7/media center setup, so I presume I have missed some passthrough settings maybe? When i open Stats for Nerds I can clearly see 5.1 channels, but the receiver does not, just stays stereo. recording-conversion-1c883d8f-f3d2-4b05-9ecf-f9c7b1f82599_1.txt embyserver.txt
Trevor68 48
NVM me sullying the chromecasts good name! It seems it was an issue with the W10 Server that Emby runs on. I checked the server running Edge browser and it was all stereo too. After installing Theatre and testing that it played surround fine, I went back to the chromecast and all was well with it too.
