Alexa Commands

I've been playing with the Alexa commands as detaield at https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001160798 but really struggling with audio genre playback. I have tried all sorts of combinations of:

 

• put on some music (genre {Genre})
  • put on some music metal
  • put on some music metal genre
  • put on some music sixties
  • put on some music sixties genre
• play songs (genre {Genre})
  • play songs metal
  • play songs metal genre
  • put on some music sixties
  • put on some music sixties genre

Seems Alexa is hearing me correctly each time but the music which is being played is not from the correct genre. Looking at the Grenes section in the web ui there are a number of albums with songs tagged metal or sixties but the playback is not honoring the genre ask. Must be something I am doing wrong, any pointers?

Hi, Try "put on some music genre metal" or "play songs genre metal".

Thanks @cayars I have been through a number of permutations but along with your suggestions I always get "I'm having trouble accessing your Emby skill right now"

Alexa is more than happy to

• play songs by {ARTISTS}
• play {TRACK} by {ARTIST}
• many others

But for some reason the genre does not want to play

I'm going through some system changes at the moment and not able to test this right now. I'll need to reset up both Alexa and Google Home when I'm finished.

Maybe someone else with Alexa setup can try this and report how it works for them.

Anyone else have this working that can suggest where I may have goofed?
