Hi.

Wondering if use  DNLA has sense on a dedicated server that I have in one datacenter outside of my country.

I use that server how backup and sometimes to watch some movie.

My main server is local in my house and DLNA could be useful for some devices.

I do not find issues with my Nvidia Shield or Arch Desktop APP.

I ask because I don't know if another device could be need the DLNA ON.

My mind says that is not needed because it is not a local server.

But I do not have the knowledge how many people here.

Thanks in advance for any answer.

You are correct - DLNA is used for devices on the same LAN - so it is not required to be on for the server hosted in the DC.

Emby does not use DLNA with it's native Emby clients, so unless there is reason to use DLNA (ie no emby client), then you are not missing anything. :)
