Mkilbride 76
So my friend is using Emby Theater to watch one of my shows with .ass subtitles. The Subtitles show for one episode. Then none of the rest have them. I then I have to restart my PC, each episode. What could cause this?

Mkilbride 76
Here's a log file. If she goes back to the previous episode, it has subtitles, but the next one does not. Very strange. ffmpeg-transcode-63c06f65-b7d5-4e29-b476-feb27ed65bd6_1.txt

GrimReaper 3327
Those are AVC Hi10p encodes and they're always a headache. You'd be better converting them to 8-bit AVC or any HEVC. Since decoding is done in software only, graphic subtitles might be too taxing for your CPU, as it simply cannot keep up, especially if you FF/REW during playback and not play it straight through. Edit: Since your friend is using Theater as a client, you could increase bandwidth limit and not transcode but pass her direct file, see how does that compare. 2021-09-01 00:14:33.043 Info App: User policy for Ariel [Senzu Bean].
