Hi, I have just updated the app to 2.2.21 but unfortunately the issue remains. iOS version is 17.5.1. Some music stops after ~1 min, some after ~1,5 or even 2 min. Happens with both MP3 and FLAC files. I also noticed very strange behavior in the progress indicator. Instead of going in 1 second increments (0:00, 0:01, 0:02, 0:03, etc) it goes with ~10 second intervals (0:00. 0:01, 0:10, 0:10, 0:19, etc). Maybe this always has been the case, but I never noticed it before? I tried it also from a browser (Firefox for iOS) on the same phone. I have no issues there with AirPlay. Music plays without interruptions and the progress indicator behaves normal. I'm using this as a workaround for now, but I much prefer the native app!

So to be clear and to answer my question. Emby processes run on a single thread and is not multi-threading enabled. Playing video which is multithreading using the encoder/decoder program which is customized by emby

Same issue with beta 22. Rolling back to 21 works fine. Running the docker version on unraid.

Well... :-).... seems there isn't one correlating to this phenomenon??? I'm making a probably incorrect assumption that because I see directories/files being written to the transcoding temp directory, that I think it's transcoding. I guess it's not. The actual problem I'm trying to solve that it can take well over 30 seconds to tune one if these new IPTV channels I've added to my TVHeadend server. Additionally, once successfully tuned, the channel plays fine. However when I hit "back" to try and go back to the guide screen, it takes another 30 seconds+ to show the guide screen. This long back time to the guide seems to be related only when I've tuned these IPTV channels.... when watching live OTA channels, going back to the guide is pretty quick. I've attached the emby server log after force rotating it and reproducing all these slowness problems. I do see ffmpeg errors in there about "transcoding". There are not corresponding "ffmpeg-blah" logs (or any at all surrounding this time for past several hours). embyserver.txt

Just FYI for trailers, the server tries to find YT trailers and provide those but the Roku cannot play them for both technical and legal reasons. If you have local trailers as files in your library, the Roku can play those.

JR, EMBY Web Be aware for Emby web, sort preferences depend on the username, the login address (local or remote) and the hardware. Every change, resets sorting to default. It looks like everything starts sorting by title. So, if you set a sort preference, you will probably notice that the preference changes back to the starting sort, whenever you log in as a different user, from different hardware or using remote after setting the sorts up first with a local login. It makes sense that each user can sort the way they want, but having all sorts reset when a user switches from mobile to tablet, to notebook to workstation, local or remote IP, is not very user friendly. Also, it would be nice if the sorts were recorded in a user setup style from admin control. That does not happen. You can duplicate a profile, but the sort preferences are lost. I thought I would mention these issue, since you are trying to organize your sorts. It makes Emby Web sorts appear to be broken, but mostly it is because you change the user's access and that resets the sorts. Hope that makes sense.

Try going into the startup settings and changing the option and then change it back how you want it.

Hi, Having a problem that just recently popped up when I added some IPTV channels to my TVHeadend server that my Emby server is connected to via the tvheadend plugin. All of this is on the same machine that I also have an OTA tuner card in. It's running the latest ubuntu 24 LTS. My server is VERY lightly used with typically 1 user connect directly on my home network. It's quite likely this has been happening for sometime for my OTA liveTV channels but never got to the be point of being super annoying. But I've added new IPTV channels to tvheadend and it takes 30+ seconds to tune one of those channels. Investigating the problem, I naturally looked if it is transcoding. On the client, an Amazon FireCube, stats for nerds reports direct stream on both audio and video. On the emby dashboard, it also reports direct streaming for audio/video when watching any livetv channels (OTA or IPTV). I do NOT have "live seeking" enabled, to confirm if I press pause it prompts me if I want to switch playback mode to live seek. The client settings has the enable live seek checkbox unchecked. However, when I go into the emby transcoding temp folder on the machine, it very clearly is creating a new folder and that contains .ts files every time I tune a channel - either OTA OR IPTV. Then when I tune away from it, I can see the folder get deleted/cleaned up. I've tried about everything I can think of, but I can't make it stop. I suppose it might be related to my tvheadend config. There is another thread about livetv buffering I'm watching, as this problem seems a little related Any suggestions for things to try?

Just came across this thread when struggling to get this working through reverse proxy and my god, it's so obvious now, apps were trying to hit my domain.com:8096 when I just had to change it to mydomain:443 to hit the NPM. Thanks!
