ISSUE RESOLVED. Please upgrade to v5.0.0.5 (Release) or allow Emby to autoupgrade to v5.0.0.5 (Release). The issue with it automatically upgrading to the "non working version" was due to the fact that Beta Server 4.8 went to Release Server 4.8, so for future reference this has been noted.

Yes, but you will need to install Emby Server on your Shield. Then also the app. The app will talk to the server to access your media. Then, you can also access that server from your PC with any Emby App. https://emby.media/server-android.html

Nothing is really known at this time but a system like Emby is actually counter to the main purpose of DRM. Emby is designed to give you unfettered access to your media from absolutely anywhere on any device. DRM is designed to keep you from being able to do exactly that. Therefore, never say never but the folks implementing DRM are doing so specifically to limit the ability of systems like ours to be able to access their content.

You didn't understand what I was saying. OTHER features are not asked for, and for those, go ahead, f them up. But for features that ARE asked for like group collections by media type which I also requested, then Luke needs to listen to the users and take into account what's been asked and what's already been proven in the ATV app. Instead, he completely ignored everything, did whatever the hell he wanted to, and it pisses me off. Enough is enough. He just completely ignores what we've asked for and then we have to wait YEARS to get it done the way it should've been done to begin with. It's completely BS. Make sense?

well, just to follow up, I output some of the gopro video using H265 from davinci resolve and that also won't play (on the newest version of nvidia shield pro). My server is a DS920+. Here's a picture of the "stats for nerds". My understanding is this should be working okay with direct play?

Update #2: I removed the /shows library again and reinstated the old /tv path, to ensure that the users can continue to watch an episode even if they click on a duplicate. Restarted the container and vacuumed the database. Then i re-added the library under the old /tv path. Now the duplicates disappeared! Don't know if it was the database vacuuming or the usage of the old path, but it did the trick!

No manual changes on my end. No mention in changelogs. Emby Server 4.8.5.0 (on Win 11 Pro) Emby Theater for Windows 3.0.20 Same recorded stream src as yesterday. Direct Playing, but the option in the "cog' menu to play back @ 1.25x/1.5x has disappeared. As a recent WMC refugee, this was a pleasant surprise & a bit of a 'must have' for news. Hey everyone, I was asking myself many times now where the picture in a library preview comes from. I see the library thumbnail and many interesting items. I would love to click the picture of my interest and jump to folder directly. This would be a nice way to explore content that you didnt know exists, but was presented in thumbnails. If this would be clickable or if there would be information about where the pictures from thumbnail originate from, then I would like to explorer from time to time. Many thanks

Yep, maybe similar. Mine happens regularly (not all the time) if I watch a program that was recording when I start watching, but has finished recording by the time I end watching. Haven't noticed 'eventually closed and relaunched. I have to kill mine.
