I tested this and this doesn't work because if you changed the ports to 80 and 443 it will refused to bind within the container because they are lower ports. Thanks for the suggestion though! It's a Linux host running Podman. I'm not figuring this out for myself but for potentially moving my Plex users to Emby, so Emby Connect has to work so that I don't have to explain to them how to and what to enter for a server name each time they add a new device. Figuring out this port thing is the first part, the second part is figuring out why once my local Emby account is connnected and verified with Emby Connect why I can't authenticate with my Emby Connect account on my Emby Server.

This is a simple and basic request, so apologies if this is a duplicate but its too simple to be searched easily. Could the character name field be expanded or made to be Multi-line capable with wrapping in the cast list for movies/shows? There really is no easy or quick way to view this information when it won't fit in the very limited display field in the cast list, other than going into the meta for the vid entry and looking at the tag. Alternatively, make it so a popup shows the full character name when clicking/tapping the character name. Obviously this would be helpful for seeing the names of characters with long names, but I think this would be especially helpful for animated shows that often have a single actor voicing multiple characters.

is it maybe not already possible to add a network share to emby from your friend? i understand that this is not the ideal solution, but it could be a quick dirty solution

Can we remove the media file location? Most is local on my server and some are on a nfs server. The media file shows the ip location and its public IP. Like to prevent this from showing up under the movie information. If your a user shouldnt see this, only the admins.

You said you already have remote access working, so why the talk of changing ports? The only thing to check is that on the networking page you have as the external address the address and port of the proxy. I'm not sure that will automatically be correct in a docker. Paul

Oh, I just saw that an app update also landed in the samsung-store recently (May 14). Maybe that was the solution - and not my setup changes. Anyway, it's working now. Many thanks for the help.

Same here, makes me sad Workaround: open emby on you cellphone, hit the shuffle there. But, you won't see the queued songs in the infotainment. Please add this feature.

Live tv could be better imo

Hey guys, i'm using the download (sync as is / original) function. When the movie has subrib subtitles, the server is extracting / converting them before. My device is capable of playing them original (streaming is an direct play) The downloaded movie then has 2 Subtitles Streams. Is this an expected behaviour? embyserver.txt

It seems that I have found the solution. I have written my DynDNS URL to “external address” and set the public port to 80 and 443 (now via reverse proxy). I had not previously specified the remote data as I thought this was only required for an SSL certificate via emby. I don't know if my old setup with port forwarding without reverse proxy and http-only would work now. Apparently the Tizen app does not use the server address of the login for streaming (lib listings worked). It worked fine on Android, so I didn't suspect it was due to the “external address”.

I have two TV Tuner sources that are both identical. They both have 1 connection and they are both from the same providers but are two separate accounts which gives me a total of 2 maximum connections. I have 1 guide source. "Enable for all tuner devices" is enabled on the guide. Emby does not seem to be utilizing the second TV Source when the first one is in use. When 1 stream is being played, when a second stream is started I get the "m3u simultaneous stream limit has been reached" error. How can I set up Emby to use both TV Sources? Hi there, I upgraded a running version 4.7.4 (or 4.7.1, don't remember exactly) to recent version 4.8.7.0 on DSM 6.2.4. After installation it went in running mode for some seconds. But then it stopped. I tried that some times, all the same. Then I uninstalled the package and reinstalled again. But unfortunately with no success. What's going wrong here? DSM is DS1517+ Prozessor INTEL Atom C2538

I suggest you include @softworkz The chapter image creation uses various ffmpeg methods to quickly locate the image to grab - so depending on the MKV 'timing' this may be getting stuck or in a loop that it cannot recover from. If it works on most files but fails on others, I would start looking into file timing construction/corruption as a first step. My LOTR Return of the King is 140GB with about 70 chapters - no issues with chapter extraction - so I don't believe it's related to file size nor the number of chapters .. ?
