Some movies not showing up in Emby- Round 2
ServerNoob005 replied to ServerNoob005's topic in General/Windows
Hey @Luke Thanks for your patience. Sure thing. To restate it. Emby can find the movie and play the movie if it misidentifies it. If I fix it, it only shows up in folders and its empty. So: If I call the movie folder "Redline (2010)" it will find the movie. It will misidentify it as a 2007 live action film, but it will run the mkv I provided. So to fix it, I hit the tree dot, go to identify, select the correct match, press okay to overwrite, and.... Poof. It's gone in the Movies section. If you go to folders, however, you can find it...it's just empty: Hope that clears it up, and sorry if this is too many images-- just trying to being thorough is all. -

New WIN app - peak brightness of the display setting doesn't do anything
generiq replied to Mahinepua's topic in Windows & Xbox
Ok, so i was just testing the effects of target-peak with HDR disabled and no peak set (defaults to 203), and played an SDR video. Then tested the same video and set target-peak=15. As expected, the image was brighter at 15. This is what you want, yes? So what could be done is when HDR is enabled, allow target-peak only for HDR media (this might change based on the new updates. Still checking that). But when HDR is disabled, allow it to operate universally. Then the brightness of tone-mapped HDR media and SDR media should closely match. Having one setting for HDR and another for SDR doesn't make sense. You understand that target-peak is for display luminance and not color. I think this would be reasonable and fairly easy to implement. It doesn't effect HDR playback. -
Can't connect with the Android app via my domain (access via browser with the same domain works fine)
LordVZlomka posted a topic in Synology
Hi, I'm running Emby on my DS923+ Synology NAS. I use cloudflare zero trust tunnels. I can access Emby via browser with my domain, but the Android app displays a connection error. I recently migrated from Jellyfin, and the same setup worked perfectly fine. -
Hi, on the main page, along the Movies, Shows, and Music, a new folder is automatically created named "Collections". I can rename any folder except the "Collections" by right-clicking and selecting "Rename". In the Collections folder settings, the option is missing, along with many others.

Color profile? SDR stuff can't be being tone-mapped. That would be inverse tonemapping and you have HDR disabled. So we're talking about HDR stuff only? Or do you want to control the luminance of everything? - Today

New WIN app - peak brightness of the display setting doesn't do anything

Yes and for each color profile. Not just for a projector but for TV`s also. All content is being tone mapped. I already have the ability to do this by sticking with the electron version, there is no advantage using the new app. - Yesterday

Noticed i made a small error in the resolution detection making some resolutions not be detected as they should. This version fixes that. EmbyIcons.dll

There is no such thing as hardware acceleration for audio. I guess technically there is with a Sound Card but in general HWA is offloading the video processing to hardware (gpu/igpu).

Azzuni started following Hardware Acceleration for Audio not Working

I have noticed that sometimes ffmpeg is running on the CPU instead of transferring that to quicksync. I see the hardware acceleration icon for the video, but not for the audio. Is this by design? Or am I configuring some settings wrong?

Thumbnail-Extraction: Avoid extra work for 3d MVC Movies
loki42 replied to loki42's topic in Feature Requests
As H264/MVC encoded streams are backwards compatible with H264/AVC, all H264 capable players will play and handle those streams just fine. In short: Inside an H264 streams, bits are organized in "NAL" units. Those units have a type, unknown types are ignored. The ffprobe output of an mvc 3D movie looks like this for the video stream: Stream #0:0(eng): Video: h264 (High), yuv420p(progressive), 1920x1080 [SAR 1:1 DAR 16:9], 23.98 fps, 23.98 tbr, 1k tbn Metadata: stereo_mode : block_lr Side data: stereo3d: frame alternate ffmpeg is no able to decode the side data, but can (and will) handle the primary stream just fine. On that node: Currently, emby also seems to transcode h264 to h264 if a 3D movie is presented. This is not required (maybe to safe some bandwidth) and breaks 3D Playback on comaptible players, like a KODI on a 3D/MVC enabled Set-Top Box, as ffmpeg can not transcode the alternate view. So, my suggestion would be to treat an h264 video stream always the same, regardless if 3D or not. -
Ok we are looking into it. Thanks.

Roku App Can't Resume/FF/RW/Skip Intros for Certain Episodes
speechles replied to Xalactic's topic in Roku
This has been mentioned before. In order to seek the header must have the seeking index at the front of the file. Not stored afterwards. Some encoders put the seek index and chapters after the video and audio streams. This makes it so you must download the entire file before you can seek. The Roku is streaming the file. This means it won't have the entire file until you are pretty close to the end. If you remux with MKVToolNix it will properly fix the file for streaming moving everything required to the front and correct the header. This is exactly what you need to do. Conversely, if this is something you will never do. Use the "Attempt Playback Correction" built into the apps video player. Open the OSD by pressing down and then move to the cog/gear and press OK. Then use playback correction and you will be able to seek. Since this will repackage the stream into HLS with an m3u8. -
Happened again. The show is The Proof is Out There. Only recorded 10 minutes. This happened with a few other shows the day before but the server purged the logs before i could catch them. This is the only log from that day. embyserver-63887875200.txt

Playing "Air Force One (1997) - 4K.mkv". in Emby Theater on a Windows 10 PC. The only thing I've done to this rip is run it through mkvtoolnix and remove the foreign language tracks, subs and label commentary tracks etc. I'm not sure there is a way to upload this file its 58 GB. embyserver.txt

Roku App Can't Resume/FF/RW/Skip Intros for Certain Episodes
ebr replied to Xalactic's topic in Roku
Hi. It is direct playing so all seeking is being done internally by the Roku player. There are no errors. Have you tried remuxing one of these? -
In Spalte "Hinzugefügt am" auch Uhrzeit anzeigen lassen und als Standardansicht einstellen
ferby09 replied to ferby09's topic in German
In den Eigenschaften eines Videos wird "Hinzugefügt am" inklusive der Uhrzeit angezeigt, also muss es eine Anzeigeeinstellung sein, damit die Uhrzeit auch in der Bibliothek angezeigt wird. -
Any idea about the roadmap of this feature or not yet ?
-
Not sure why this suddenly worked now, but it appears it has. Is there any way to see a log of what I've watched in the last few weeks easily? I need to mark some things as watched in Trakt.....
-
Hi, can you try this again and see how things compare? Thanks.

Hi, what do you mean by "ffmpeg does not care about the substream" ? -
Hokey dokey, thanks.
-
Hi, we are actively working on it and hope to have something soon. Thanks.
-
Hi, not yet but it's possible for future updates. Thanks.
