Subtitles going out of sync when transcoding sound
Luke replied to psxlover's topic in Samsung Smart TV
Hi, we are looking into this. Thanks. -
In general that is one possibility, but in your case, it looks like you are getting good transcoding performance. Have you updated to Emby Server 4.8.6? Has that helped?

I apologize for the frustration, but we did our homework and what we do is consistent with how most music apps work. Yes, Plex is an exception, I get that. But try windows media player, itunes, mediamonkey, or roon, and you'll see they are getting the album artist from the embedded metadata just like we are. I know it seems like a pain in the butt to make these changes to your files, but if you do it once then you'll actually be making your music files work better with a lot of other software besides just Emby.
-
The folder structure option isn't relevant here unless your "album artist" tags are empty. When they're empty, then this option (if set), will allow the server to use the parent folder name to try and figure it out. It sounds like your "album artist" values are not empty but rather incorrect, so that's why I don't think changing this option will help you.

"Support extras for seasons and episodes" - how does this work?
Luke replied to rexerm's topic in General/Windows
The same folders you were using at the series level can now be placed at the season level. Same presentation as before, but just an alternative option for storage if you wish. Extras for individual episodes are supported in the same way as extras for video files. @sa2000will update the docs. Thanks ! -

looks like a system locale issue to me if the browser is displaying MM-DD-YYYY instead of DD-MM-YYYY. But dev would have to comment as I don't know how all this actually translates.

Also note if you are copy and pasting you may be getting garbage encoding per the other topic also. example UTF-8 shows this while ANSI shows this garbage So all these characters actually create spacing issue. vs removed garbage characters

Folders for movies Showing up (with movie thumbnails), but no movies
Luke replied to jdonovan's topic in General/Windows
Hi, are you saying you setup libraries pointing to specific movies rather than your entire movies folder? -
I really don't know if it's isolated to certain NIC's or not. If we have to stop listening for events related to network changes on macOS, then so be it. It just means you'd have to restart the server instead of changes being accounted for automatically. I've just been waiting to see if other users report it as well.

Thanks, it seems to be the emby open subtitles plugin is broken currently. Opensubtitles support told me the API response contains all the required debugging information but it is not listed in the emby log so hope you know where to review that.
-
and per the other topic? as it talks about that also.
-
As long as that is all you need. Think the only library you would have issues would be Home Video and need to have a landing page of Folders, but I guess it truly depends on content as tab for Video/Photo won't be available.
-
Yep, that is exactly what I want, to have the cleanest and least options for my users. Basically, select and play is all that is needed. Whether it's movies... Or TV programs... It's exactly the same.
-
You may have a permissions problem at the file level also. Do you have a server log for when you tried adding the folder? It may contain an error.
-
Thanks for your feedback I'm looking to update my container or create one with the latest version (4.8.6.0) while preserving the data of all my users (especially for the history), as well as all my media libraries. I had no trouble doing this before, because I could restore my configuration with B&R without any problem, but now I'm stuck and can't restore data with this plugin... I hope I'm clearer, if there's any other solution and/or something simpler, I'm interested too

Dev will have to comment more but the max limit appears to be 160Mbps or should say a hard limit coded into the app. As mentioned if you disable transcoding on the User does it direct plays as your server cannot handle the transcoding. Per user settings disable 2 and 3 to test as this can cause items to not playback at all. If it plays then it would be a request to change max limits on device. But to a point extreme bitrate files will be an issue no matter what they are played on.
-
But yes testing this in 4.8.6.0 it does not appear to maintain the lock people via UI or be written to nfo file either. Same in 4.9.0.17 @Luke

Roku Channel logs out if Emby server is unreachable
SmplyUnprdctble replied to SmplyUnprdctble's topic in Roku
I think that works. As I said, my "ideal solution" is low priority. I know the awesome team is working on more important things, so I'll mark the above as solution. Since it's an acceptable workaround. Thanks, my friend! - Today

What server version? Do you write nfo files with media or database only? Please provider server log for the specific example.

Currently not that I am aware of. For the local web client you can use custom css but note it does not work on any other client/device. /*Remove More like this*/ div.verticalSection.similarSection {display: none; }
