Luke replied to sa2000's topic in General/Windows
HI, this issue is on my list for review. For now you may just have to start with a fresh database. Apologies for the disruption. -

Problem with premier key, apple tv side, and every client
developerhq posted a topic in Feature Requests
Unbearable issues with the Apple TV app, where the audio and video are out of sync when playing videos. Every time I re-log into the iOS or other device clients (perhaps after a day), the premier key becomes invalid. I must clear the premier key and re-enter it to use it correctly. The "continue watching" module does not correctly record viewing history and does not provide the links for the videos I want to continue watching. -

@LukeHaving the rotate info does not help with this issue of portrait videos being rotated I have reproduced the problem again and I have media file and logs available. I have this time also tested on the Emby Samsung App as well and Emby Web and also Android App and repeated the ios app test and also added Emby Theater Outcome of my tests: Emby Server 4.8.5.0 on Windows 11 Emby Web - the issue only arises when forcing transcoding by reducing quality, Direct Play is ok Emby for Samsung 1.7.0 - the issue arises with auto quality and direct play and auto aspect ratio. It also happens with reducing quality to force transcode Emby for iOS 2.2.17 - same outcome as Emby Web. OK on Direct Play. Wrong when Aspect Ratio Auto and quality reduced forcing a transcode Emby for Android 3.3.86 - same outcome as Emby Web and Emby for iOS - OK on Direct Play. Wrong when Aspect Ratio Auto and quality reduced to force transcode Emby Theater 3.0.20 - same as web, ios and android. DP ok, Transcoded playback wrong

embyforkodi (next-gen) 10.X.X support
quickmic replied to quickmic's topic in Emby For Kodi Next Gen
I don't mean you are deleting something wrong. A tiny mistake in the code could delete entire libraries. Delete is well tested and I took several precautions however, I cannot test each and every case. -> Disclaimer page one of this thread -
Gotcha... yeah delete is really only for daily shows that recorded such as jeopardy and wheel of fortune.

quickmic replied to quickmic's topic in Emby For Kodi Next Gen
I see a timing issue in the code. Almost impossible to replicate, but I'll fix it. Just a heads up, delete is dangerous. Use it on your on risk. -
NIce Cheers m8.

Thank you guys so much. Deleting the dashboard-ui folder fixed the issue. I have been updated to 4.8.5.0.
-
I checked task manager to confirm the server is shut down. I will try deleting the folder and installing. Thanks

Make sure that Emby server is shutdown. Check task manager and make sure its not running.

It's comforting to know that it's not just me doing something stupid (wouldn't be the first time for me). Thanks for chiming in!

The biggest problem with the device limit is that it takes a week for one to drop off, when they should reset every day. This is just a stranglehold to extract more money, the proof is they took the lifetime device upgrade away. If I was paying a sub for emby I would have been gone a long time ago, especially considering it takes forever for them to fix the problems they create with each release and LiveTV has not worked properly the almost 5 years I have been using emby. I love emby, use it every day even though it has lots of issues. Luckily the device limit does not really affect me as only my wife and I use it in the house on only 3 devices and my family and friends that use it usually use it on only 1 TV and not that often. It helps that I have most of them on Firesticks because I bought that app and a lifetime Premiere, but if I hit the device limit I would be peeved considering I do not use it for anything illegal.

I'm not very familiar with updating on Windows, was the service stopped first? I don't want to suggest anything that might break your install (though really the important stuff is in the data folder) but you can probably just delete the dashboard-ui folder and it will just get recreated when you install the new version.

@Luke@Lessaj So I went to install the latest version on top of the existing version, but I'm getting an 'access denied' error to dashboard -ui/server/downloads. I set it to Everyone-Full Control but still got the error. That folder is empty. I'm guessing that's why when emby tried to auto update it failed.

I cannot replicate. This works fine for me using AEON MQ 7 Skin. Make sure you didn't turn it off by accident while navigating down to the seconds settings. Also for what it's worth, I have allow mediation deletion enable in core Kodi settings also. Kodi - Settings - Media Settings - General - Allow file name renaming and deletion to ON.

pimo1974 replied to pimo1974's topic in General/Windows
it does seem to be trying to do an https redirect. But even if I try forcing HTTP same result. Insteringly enough it seems you are right it launches in edge and firefox weirdly as HTTP. so some chrome issue? -

Also note I am completely unable to access the portal to change any settings unless there is some way to do so I'm unaware of. I can attach any logs required to help but that's about all I have access to at this point. I have looked over other posts but their issues seem to be different as they can still access the portal. -

Lessaj replied to pimo1974's topic in General/Windows
8096 is http unless you made changes to the network config, your browser might be trying to upgrade to https automatically. Make sure it's still set to http, maybe try another browser as well. -
Well !! I will not jumping ship, because of 1 rat, in the cargo.

I am unable to access via http or https on the local machine server is installed on. However I can access emby via my roku app fine. This happened after I cleaned up some expired intermediate certs on my PC> I tried a full uninstall/reinstall but retained settings. This cant be a port forwarding issue as this is on local machine and I can connect fine remotely. I think it has to be some issue with the cert itself?
