Messed around a with it a little bit. Got it to work with the Android app but still not with a web browser. Noticed the "Include adult metadata" is also missing

Reading this topic and being a complete newb at this… I’m assuming I’ve done something wrong or ill advised by simply using the remote setup already in Emby when I created my new server? 1. I just enabled remote usage and tested it via my phone by going to my ip and port while not on WiFi. Got access to the login page so I know it worked. 2. Disabled remote access for my admin account. 3. Removed user names from remote login pages and apps they’ve never signed in with. Is this bad, and if so, maybe a warning of some time should be included under the enable remote access option in Emby to let a new user like myself know that these are not recommend but will work? Again, I’m honestly curious because I’m so new at this. I’m currently testing Plex and Emby on a laptop as I buy the pieces for an unRAID build where I”m leaning toward using Emby. Thank you

Version 4.8.7.0 Docker, TheMovieDB and TheTVDB. Noticed that Emby doesn't put movies into collections unless manual either even when set to auto in the Android app. Just noticed the Auto Box Set is not installed, is that needed or was that only in old versions of Emby?

Hello. When using a browser to setup a library in Emby for a movies library the setting "Importen collection Information from metadata downloaders" is missing. The option is there when using the Android app. I have tried clearing cache, restarting Emby and even installing it but keeping the database intact. Many thanks in advance for any help!

I have some experience with the mediasonic drive enclosures, they support both USB and eSATA. I think they're okay but you might still be gimping the performance of the drives because it's limited to the speed of the USB interface (if you use that option). I believe the eSATA connection should allow for a higher speeds but I think it's still going to be limited to SATA 6 Gb/s for the entire enclosure, and modern drives can do about 2 Gb/s + or - so you're still leaving some performance on the table for a 4 drive enclosure but that should be faster than USB. They basically do SATA port multiplication, which some SATA controllers don't even support. I paid for the whole speedometer, I'm going to use the whole speedometer.

The drive behaves just like an internal drive - it's (in my mind) the best option. Because it behaves just like an internal drive. However - power and power quality are a huge issue here too. I would make sure to use some form of power filter or UPS. Wall warts that power external drives are prone to creating noise that is crazy difficult to track down as the noise affects different devices in the chain - not just the device in question, and tracking it down can take a lot of time and effort. (and a good VOM) Which is why I favor devices like mediasonic drive enclosures or NAS devices as there are less points of failure and more robust power supplies.........

I no longer see the access for " lga" . "HTConnect' is visible in its place

New here, and I’ve done some searching but kind of confused on if I’m just having an error or this is the 4K DV issue people are having with AppleTV4K and Emby. I have the Dune 4K version ripped in MKV format on my server and left it as is on the rip, so still in MKV container. I don’t use compression tools etc after ripping. The file displays as: 4K Dolby Vision HEVC - Dolby - TrueHD in my server when I open the movie graphic before clicking play. Equipment: AppleTV4K 3rd gen (latest) and Sonos Beam Gen 2. I’ve also tested this on a different AppleTV4K on a 5.1.2 Denon system and a different soundbar on another TV. All the same issue, get sound, but no video. When I click Play I get the audio but there is no video. The server dashboard shows: Emby for Apple TV 1.8.8 (2) Stream: MKV (64mbps) —> HLS (96 mbps 241 fps) Converting audio to compatible codec Video: 4K Dolby Vision HEVC -> Direct Play (64 mbps) Audio: English TRUEHD 7.1 (Default) -> Transcode (AC3 384 kbps) The 1080P version I have uploaded plays just fine. So I’m assuming it’s related to the DV? I just figured it would cut the DV if this is the case and convert the video to something else. I’m testing Emby while running a Plex server (new at that too) but the video works there. Thanks!

Ceton infinitv6 pci. Using that app version on the firestick should be fine. Roku and web client still have the issue though.

Wellll....not really. The laptop I am writing this on has both a 13th gen i9 with integrated UHD gpu and a GTX4090 mobile. It's pretty much an even pick for encodeing speeds between the two.....so no doubt in my mind the newer ARC would be quicker. Plus when OS compatibility is factored in, Nvidia works in Windows and is a giant PITA in linux, and Intel Quicksync, just works.....

I was offline for a while and was attempting to update. However I inadvertently changed my account from "lja" to HTConnect and I can no longer access the old account "lja". Is it possible to get "lja" back?

That is correct I did not add anything. Testing adding ports: Port 80 fetched the user list (just like with no port). Port 443 did not work and did not fetch the user list. Login does not work, even when specified port. Dialog box says invalid username / password. Also worth mentioning that my username has underscores "_" in the name.

Thanks for the response! Odd that the 1060 would be faster but the Arc cards provide better encoding. Since I am shooting for better more efficient encoding, I think I will go with the A380. Only $10 more than the 310 so seems like the better choice. Thanks!
