@GrimReaper Initial quick feedback is that it runs from installation, without any problems at all. Two very minor styling issues: 1. I have my overall Emby grid size set as: Smaller which gives 8 albums across the screen. Group by None still retains this, however the alternative Release Type and Decade views have a larger size, giving 7 albums across. I haven't really looked at the code yet to see if there is a card size setting to adjust??? 2. I run custom CSS that makes the album corners square. As the default Emby has them slightly rounded, I guess the custom CSS runs first and then the script runs and just uses Emby default. Therefore perhaps I need CSS in the script??? A possible functional quirk that I need to investigate further though and look at more Artist examples and edge-cases. Decade sorting ascending and descending works fine. But the Release Type sorting seems to give some strange results. I know that is very vague, but I'll follow up later with more specific details... Overall though, it is working very well!!!

Embodiment started following Blacklist Song in Android App for Music
-
Simple request that the Android app have the ability to blacklist a song. Lots of features available when the three . . . are touched next to a song. I would like an option to 'blacklist or skip permanently a song. As opposed to deleting the song which than breaks of the completeness of the music album.

I appreciate the support. Sadly, that's exactly what happens after I downgrade the plugin, and restart the server. As I mentioned above, downgrading the plugin + restarting makes it seem like I did not, and so if I had copied the log before restarting, it would've most likely mentioned that the downgrade was successful. I will send you a fresh debug log after the downgrade, and one after a restart, then. Thanks. I appreciate it. I did realize that, and so I invalidated those tokens within minutes of the incident. Also, I tried to remove the log, but no matter how many times I tried editing my reply, the log would multiply, and deleting the reply completely isn't possible, unfortunately. In other words, I couldn't fix my mistake even if I wanted to, which is kinda embarrassing for someone who's been tinkering with all kinds of IT stuff since 2006. Will do. Cheers, I did read that before posting that reply, but I missed the note written in italic ("rookie" mistake, I guess), hence the unsanitized log incident. I can easily locate stuff on the log, but when I read that the whole log had to be included, I decided to just follow those instructions. Speaking of locating relevant stuff on the log, I just noticed that the Emby app from MS Store (for some friends and family) throws this error `Playback error: there was an error processing the request....` while it works fine on my PC. I tried to update dependencies manually by getting them from what I call the Adguard Store (Microsoft Store - Generation Project), but to no avail. Firefox triggers a "No compatible streams are currently available", while Chromium-based browsers like Brave, Chrome, and even the UnGoogled Chromium work great. I also am not sure if this is relevant in terms of performance, but I have 128GB of DDR4 RAM (3200 MT/s CL16) (managed to grab another 64GB kit for $170 days before the current scary situation, which felt like I had foresight ), and metadata + transcode cache is stored on my Samsung 970 Pro (1TB). I figured the more the merrier, and if you could please explain in technical details why 128MB (default) would be more optimal, I would appreciate it. It's just that I have a "traumatizing" experience with Jellyfin when it comes to the loading animation, and that's the main reason I switched to Emby in hopes that the latter handles database operations better. So far so good. -
Installed version 4.10.0.7 beta just to see if the sqlite updates would help, sadly searching is still sporadically unreliable. Still looking forward to a fix, hopefully soon.

So what if I wanted to open a link from Google tv though? Emby already shows imdb links etc, why can't you make an option to allow users to open IMDb from their tv if they want to? How is it any different than another other app opening external links, which they do?
-
Thanks ebr. I sideloaded the latest APK version in my Chevrolet and it works great, the only thing I noticed so far is that the onscreen sliders for audio and brightnes do not have any effect, which is not really a problem for in-vehicle use. Are you submitting it for inclusion in the Play Store for other vehicles/Manufacturers, or is there anything we can do to request it from our Manufacturers?

mandjou started following New filter : Country
-
Wow - the screenshots look really great!!! Exactly as I was imagining. You must also be a mind reader because the addition of the item counts would have been next on my list of refinements. I'll try it out and report back when I have some results to share...
-
Indeed it does. I would assume that plugin would never get approved for the Catalogue.
-
Nice idea really, but a more natural approach would be to integrate it directly into this section where you can already filter by title, year, date added, critic rating, runtime, etc. That’s the only solution that really makes sense. Current workarounds - like creating playlists or adding the country as a tag - are acceptable, but they’re still just workarounds. They don't follow the workflow. The country information is already available when tagging a film, so requiring users to add it again creates unnecessary extra work.

Understood - thanks.

Isn't that what ProviderIdsExtender does? Or am I misunderstanding? Looks like it might only support known links with IDs configured in metadata.

Just, A bonus of using the dash - 1080P and - 720P, the first part of the media title is removed and you just see - 1080P and - 720P in the pull down options, which is less cluttered and easier to read. The abridged listing is based on what comes after the dash, so you have a choice to handle the naming of the pull down options, exactly how you prefer. - Director's extended version 1080P or - 1080P (director's extended)

So, is LG not recognizing the media as a playable video? Can Emby be tweaked to recognize these files? Are the files perhaps created from a recording and not showing all the startup metadata at the beginning of the file. If the video is remuxed to get the video data setup correctly, will those remuxed video media then begin to play? I think it's reasonable to guess that LG does some test before accepting a media file, as playable. If you remux and try the new file and that fixes it, that would point towards this possibility. I am just guessing. Media quite often has strange metadata setup and this causes failure to playback on some apps and software all the time.

Emby for Android 3.5.28 will not play songs -- just skips over them all.
lomography replied to lomography's topic in Linux
Thank you kindly Visproduction, for the resources. I wouldn't stream video over bluetooth (not sure if you can) but I use it for audio. My preference is LDAC, the proprietary Hi-Res wireless audio codec from Sony. Everyone's needs are different, I suppose. -
If that's the case, why is it okay on phone?

Of interest - Bluetooth codec compatibility. It would seem possible that some bluetooth audio codecs won't work with every hardware / software. I prefer to always use cables and avoid wireless for all audio and video. Other than a couple of links, I have no knowledge, whatsoever, regarding Bluetooth and no plans to ever use it. https://www.pcmag.com/how-to/what-are-bluetooth-codecs-a-guide-to-everything-from-aac-to-sbc https://audiophiles.co/bluetooth-codecs/ -
Yeah, the plugin was more proof of concept. Next version will have a proper name and thumbnail.

Intel QuickSync H.265 Max Bitrate 39Mbit/s -> falls back to software encoding above this threshold
zabbie82 replied to embart0r's topic in Linux
Glad to hear it! The 40 Mbps was a ceiling, not a floor. The script just bumps that ceiling up so Emby stops rejecting the hardware encoder for high-bitrate content. It doesn't touch the lower end at all. If you're transcoding 4K HEVC at 20-25 Mbps, the hardware encoder was already being selected before the patch (it was under the old cap), and that doesn't change. Whatever bitrate Emby picks is based on your client's quality setting, not the level cap. If you're seeing a specific minimum being enforced somewhere, post the relevant lines from your transcoding log and I can take a look. -
Ah ok I'll just learn to accept the category in name better than nothing. And the plugin is called meet movie? Haha I've been looking for one called embyui or emby plugin ui. Most dll have same name as plugin. Should mention the name is different lol.

I’m confident this isn’t related to that setting—I don’t have it enabled, and the behavior consistently occurs when pausing or rewinding in the Emby app. At this point, I’ve largely given up on troubleshooting this issue (and several others I’ve reported) due to the lack of response and progress from the Emby team. Many of these problems have been open for years without resolution, and in some cases, they make certain media completely unwatchable—for example, failing to transcode without errors. As a result, I’ve started moving more of my usage over to Plex to avoid these ongoing issues. I know this isn’t directly related to the original topic, but I felt it was worth expressing my overall frustration with the current state of things.

Any update on this? It has almost been another month and the subtitles are still off screen on the top left corner
