i am using emby as a server via a local Chinese player. The issue has gone away, will save your time investigating and close this thread. When I say "gone away", I cleared all cache and data for both Google Play Services and the Google Play Store, restarted the device, tried on a different internet connection (failed) reset all data and cache of Emby app, tried again on my normal connection when I got home and it worked ... The film plays back without any problems, without stuttering or anything like that. Only the HDR information is not being processed.

So I used mkvtoolnix to add the foreign subtitles in (and removed all other ones), but unfortunately the Roku Emby player STILL doesn't display them, even though I've selected the subtitles before playing it! What is going on? Thanks.

Why does Emby revert my audio selection when it’s TrueHD? This happens regardless of what is used to set it (browser, iOS, or AppleTv). Also, could we get a setting to turn off audio transcoding and just pass it through as LPCM when it’s not a supported AppleTv format? Let my receiver handle the decoding. Hi, currently there is no lock for these fields, so that's why this happens. I would also recommend updating the embedded metadata within the file.

Interestingly I just now tried converting the file to "TV" profile, with original quality. The audio is now AAC5.1 on the new file instead of EAC3, and works fine on the Samsung TV. But still stutters on the Xbox.

I'm getting the issue on both the Xbox One, and the Samsung TV. When playing on my PC via a webbrowser, it transcodes the EAC3 5.1 to MP3 192 kbps. However for both the Samsung TV and the Xbox One, it's trying to direct play. I'm guessing that's the issue. I've re-attached new log files for a new MKV file. Bitrate for the video is 8597488, and for the audio is 640000. Is there a way I can get it to transcode or something specifically for the Xbox one and the Samsung TV to something it can better handle, so it doesn't try to directplay? embyserver (2).txt hardware_detection-63907277840 (1).txt
